Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. An easy one to start with, who is the Highest of the Red Ajah?

Answer: Galina Casban

Galina has been Highest for almost 20 years. By "Crossroads of Twilight" the hunters for the Black Ajah have discovered that she also has a secret allegiance to that Ajah although they do not yet realise she sits on its Supreme Council.
2. The Red Ajah was the only Ajah to give full support to deposing Siuan Sanche and raising Elaida a'Roihan in her place?

Answer: True

All three Red Sitters (including Elaida herself, of course) supported this course of action and no Red sisters fled the White Tower after the coup. In contrast all the other Ajahs (except the Blue, which was universally opposed) were divided on the issue.
3. Due to her weakness at the start of her rule Elaida was forced to break with custom and choose a Keeper of the Chronicles from an Ajah other than her own. However, once she was able to engineer Alviarin's removal from the post she was able to appoint which Red sister to the vacancy?

Answer: Tarna Feir

In ridding herself of Alviarin, Elaida was unknowingly ridding herself of Black Ajah control. In choosing Tarna, who is a close confidante of Galina and whose true allegiances are not known, Elaida may have restored that Black Ajah control.
4. Why did Pevara Sedai chose the Red?

Answer: To increase her chances of finding Darkfriends

Pevara's whole family were murdered by Darkfriends in Kandor and so she chose the Red as she felt a woman hunting men who could channel would be more likely to encounter Darkfriends and bring them to justice. She was close friends with Seaine Harimon who had chosen the White but was put under pressure to snub her as Reds are discouraged from having friends outside their own Ajah. Pevara, unlike most Reds, is known to favour having Warders.
5. Who was the Amyrlin Seat raised from the Red who was deposed for betraying Manetheren?

Answer: Tetsuan

Tetsuan was jealous of Eldrene, Queen of Mantheren and so delayed in sending help to that nation during the Trolloc Wars. She was stripped of the stole and staff as a result and replaced by an Amyrlin raised from the Blue Ajah. No Amyrlin was raised from the Red until Bonwhin a thousand years later. Bonwhin would later be stripped of the stole and staff and again replaced by an Amyrlin from the Blue, this time for almost destroying the White Tower by pitting it against Hawkwing.

As a result no Red sister would be raised to Amyrlin Seat until Elaida a thousand years later.
6. Which Amyrlin was killed by Red sisters?

Answer: Sierin Vayu

Despite have "more than a touch of Red in her" Sierin Vayu was murdered by the Reds for reasons undisclosed. We do, however, know that it was done at the instigation of Chesmal Emry, a Black sister whom Sierin was about to expose.
7. Which Sitter was apparently attacked by Red sisters after wandering into their quarters?

Answer: Doesine Sedai

What happened to Doesine is not made clear other than that she had had "more than her dignity ruffled".
8. Which three Red Sitters were sent into exile (or "'voluntary' retreat" as it is put in the book) approximately fifteen years before "A Crown of Swords"?

Answer: Toveine, Lirene & Tsutama

The exact circumstances that led to this exile have yet to be made clear. Lirene and Tsutama are nervous women after their years in exile. Toveine, however, is harder than ever before.
9. Which Red Sitter was unchaired by Elaida just to show that she could?

Answer: Teslyn Baradon

Teslyn, like the other Red Sitters, had supported Elaida's rise to power but Elaida wanted to show that even her firmest supporters were subject to her and so unchaired Teslyn and sent her as ambassador to Altara along with Joline Maza of the Green Ajah.
10. Which Red sister has effectively taken control of the Aes Sedai in Cairhien in Cadsuane's absence?

Answer: Sashelle Sedai

Sashelle was stilled when Rand escaped from the chest in which he had been imprisoned. She was later Healed by Damer Flinn and, like all the Red sisters captured at Dumai's Wells, swore allegience to Rand. With Cadsuane absent from Cairhien and granted freedom by the Aiel who believe her stilling to have been punishment enough, Sashelle has been able to assert her authority over the remaining sisters in Cairhien.
