Adanedhel (remember, "dh" is pronounced "th") means Elf-man, and was to given to him because of his time spent in Doriath with King Thingol.

It flowed southward, before emptying into the Bay of Belfalas. Its name means "Great River".

The name means the "Great Music of the Ainur". This story is the one where Eru directs (for lack of a better word) the music that the Ainur composed (again, for lack of a better word - although the themes were given to them by Eru), the music that created the world.
