Answer: Eorl

He was known as Eorl the Young because he became chief of his people at the age of 16! His father Léod was thrown from a wild horse, and died from the blow, a horse that Eorl caught and tamed. When Gondor was assailed in 2510 T.A. by the Easterlings of Balchoth, Cirion of Gondor desperately sent for aid from the Éothéod. Eorl rode at the head of his men and defeated the foe at the Field of Celebrant. Cirion granted Eorl the land of Rohan, and Eorl swore an oath to be ever loyal to Gondor.

Eärendil was a half-elf, who chose immortality. His mission in life was to sail to Aman and seek the help of the Valar against the evil of Morgoth. He was set in the sky on his ship Vingilot, as a sign to the peoples of the Middle-Earth that his mission was successful, where he sails to this very day with the Silmaril of Luthien on his brow, as the morning and evening star.
3. Who was the 'dark elf' and master-craftsman who made the two famous swords Anguirel and Anglachel?

Eöl was kinsman of Elu Thingol, that preferred to live in the dark forest of Nan Elmoth. He ensnared Aredhel as a wife, and she bore him a son, Maeglin. When they escaped, Eöl pursued them to Gondolin, but sought death for Maeglin and himself. He failed to kill Maeglin but killed Aredhel instead, and was cast off the cliffs of Caragdûr to his death as punishment.

He made the two swords Anguirel and Anglachel out of the iron of a meteorite. Anglachel was given to Thingol, who gave it to Beleg Strongbow. Anguirel was kept by Eöl and was later carried by Maeglin.
4. Elwë Singollo was lord of what great city?

Elwë Singollo was the name of Elu Thingol of the Sindarin elves. He founded the hidden kingdom of Doriath, of which Menegroth was its citadel. He led the third march of the elves westwards to Aman with his brother Olwë. He wedded Melian the Maia, and was father of Lúthien Tinúviel. He was killed by dwarves for the necklace Nauglamír, where he set the first of the Silmarils.

The sword was re-forged for Elendil's heir, Aragorn, as Andúril.
