1. In the first Vicky Bliss mystery, "Borrower of the Night", what is the name of the young countess who is being controlled by her grandmother?

Elfrida was Irma's conrolling grandmother, and Konstanze was Irma's ancestor. Vicky discovers that Konstanze killed her husband, the count, and stole the Riemenschneider shrine from him.

2. Vicky Bliss encounters Sir John Smythe for the first time in "Street of the Five Moons". Where does this meeting take place?

Answer: antiques shop

John is the "manager" of an antiques shop, and this is where Vicky first meets him. However, John and Vicky are not formally introduced until later, when they go to Pietro Caravaggio's mansion.
