Answer: Yoji and Natsuo

The two Zero pairs are Yoji and Natsuo, and Yamato and Koya. Yamato and Koya are the oldest, so Yoji and Natsuo refer to them as 'old ladies'.

Answer: Breast

'Zero' is Yamato and Koya's real name. They don't have the actual word written on their bodies, but instead have it written as a zero with a line through it. Since Yamato and Koya are a pair, their name is in the exact same place. Several references are made to the name's location throughout volumes three and four.

Answer: With Soubi

After they lose to Soubi, Yoji and Natsuo are left with nowhere to go. Soubi offers his home to them. They claim that Nagisa-sensei said they could only come back if they win. Otherwise, they are on their own. She calls them back home in volume six. The boys start off thinking that they don't really care if they go back or not, that the others don't matter.

After a bit of reflection, they realize that they are going to miss everyone. In the end, they resign to it and leave.

Answer: Losing Yamato

Nagisa-sensei calls while Koya is in the bathroom, throwing up. Yamato says that she has no idea why Koya would be sick, other then that she's pregnant. Nagisa-sensei yells at her, but Yamato is obviously joking; claiming that the baby is hers. When Koya exits the bathroom, Yamato wonders what was making her so sick. Koya's thoughts show that she is worried about losing Yamato.

Answer: Nagisa-sensei

Nana is a character in 'Loveless', but she is referred to as "Seven". Nagisa-sensei is revealed to be in charge of the project in volume three, in a flashback that Soubi has. Nagisa-sensei is the one that sent the Zeroes after Soubi. She believes that her Zeroes can beat Soubi; Ritsu's former and best student.

Answer: Yoji

Yoji and Natsuo go outside Soubi's apartment to fight Yamato and Koya, while Ritsuka stays inside with the injured and recovering Soubi. The battle is not shown, but Ritsuka and Soubi hear Natsuo scream and run outside. Yoji is on the ground, completely restricted from moving and seeing, and Natsuo is kneeling by him. Natsuo says that Yoji collapsed as soon as the battle started.

Answer: Yamato

Ritsuka notices that Yamato feels pain while at a coffee house with her. He accidentally spills coffee on her and she cries out, 'hot!' He comes to the conclusion that she can feel pain. During battle with the girls, Ritsuka sees how much Yamato is hurting.

He points it out right before she collapses from the pain. Her name is fading off of her chest and she is no longer a zero. Koya and Yamato forfeit the match.

Answer: Koya

Yoji and Natsuo still have their natural ears. Neither Koya nor Yamato has their ears. Yamato isn't afraid to let it show and doesn't wear false ears. Koya does, however, for unknown reasons. Ears and tails symbolize virginity in the series.

Natsuo points this out in volume seven. He says that because of it, Nagisa-sensei prefers Yoji out of the two of them. That is okay with Natsuo, however, because he also prefers Yoji above himself. It is unknown where Nagisa's sister is, or who she is.

Natsuo wears an eye patch over his right eye. It is unknown why this is so. He doesn't seem affected by it, however, and no one really makes mention of it.

Answer: He lowers the temperature to freezing

Soubi claims that he is bringing the temperature down to absolute zero. However, that temperature would kill all three of them instantly. He more likely just brought it down to a temperature that would be considered freezing. Soubi says that since the Zeroes can't feel pain, they also can't 'constrict their blood vessels' Thus, the Zeroes are quickly subjected to the cold. For the next couple of books, their hands are wrapped up to treat frostbite.

Answer: Sakagami

Yoji and Natsuo are the Sagan boys, Yamato's last name is Nakano, and Agatsuma belongs to Soubi. Koya's last name is revealed by Yamato in volume four. She calls her by her last name when they run into one another after school. The girls Yamato is walking with ask her who Koya is, and Yamato says she is just a former classmate. It is unknown whether they were ever classmates.

Answer: Start their new life over

Knowing that she can't fight without Yamato being a Zero, Koya forfeits the battle with Ritsuka and Soubi. Soubi says that it means the end of them as a unit, and that he and Ritsuka have nothing to do with them anymore. After they leave, Yamato and Koya have some alone time.

They defy Nagisa-sensei by calling her and informing her that her 'Zeroes have died'. Koya breaks her cell phone in two and the two leave together. This occurs in volume four.

Koya and Yamato have been sent to lynch Soubi, and meet him outside of Yuiko and Ritsuka's school. However, Yuiko has not seen Yoji and Natsuo at all yet. Soubi gives his goodbyes to Yuiko and leaves with the girls. Yuiko doesn't know who they are other then 'two high school girls'. Once out of earshot, Yamato asks Soubi if Yuiko is really a sixth grader and if she is Ritsuka's girlfriend.

She seems to enjoy his negative reaction to the second question.

Answer: She thinks they need more training

It is originally Ritsu's idea to bring them back. He offers to train the Zeroes, since they were obviously not skilled enough to defeat Soubi. Nagisa-sensei opposes the idea at first, but she later accepts it. The Zeroes are even reluctant to come back at first, thinking they will miss Ritsuka, Soubi, and even Soubi's friend Kio.

They then decide that they don't need them and will go back to school; even going so far as to say they hate them. Before they go, they decide that they might not like what they're going to do, but they have to do it.
