1. Lets start off with an easy one. In "The Hobbit" Bilbo Baggins found more than the Ring. He also found a short sword in the Troll cave. What did he name it?

Answer: Sting

He named it Sting because the first battle he really used it in was in a battle with very large spiders. The spiders were trying to sting him, but it ended being the other way around because of his trusty sword.
2. Gandalf and Thorin also found their swords in the troll cave. What was the name of Gandalf's sword in the ancient tongue of Gondolin?

Answer: Glamdring

In regular speech it is simply called Foe-hammer.
3. What was the name of Thorin's sword in the ancient tongue of Gondolin?

Answer: Orcrist

In the common tongue Orcrist is called Goblin-cleaver.
4. The sword that was broken was Elendil's sword, broken by the dark lord Sauron. What was it originally named?
