This movie is one of my absolute favorites, destined to be surpassed only by the third chapter, "The Return of the King". It will no doubt go down in history as one of the best trilogies ever made.

Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something."

This movie was harshly overlooked by the Academy Awards. Especially the performance of Jason Isaacs, who played the most viciously brilliant villian of all time.
