"The Searchers" was initially number 96, but went all the way up to number 12 on the revised list. The movie starred John Wayne, Jeffrey Hunter, Ward Bond, Vera Miles, and Natalie Wood. Set three years after the end of the Civil War, the movie centers around Ethan's (John Wayne) search for his captured niece Debbie (Natalie Wood).

While he is initially prejudiced against the Native American tribes that took his niece, he eventually overcomes this to welcome Debbie back into their family.
