Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Young Fievel Mousekewitz is once again the main protagonist of the story; who gave voice to the feisty youngster?

Answer: Phillip Glasser

Phillip Glasser was born October 4th, 1978 in California; he was 13 years old when he provided the voice for Fievel in this sequel. In the film, the Mousekewitz family is lured out of the Bronx, travelling west to what they believe is a better, more promising future "way out west". Of course, nothing is ever that simple in the movies!
2. During the course of his adventure, Fievel meets and befriends a legendary sheriff; what is the famous lawman's name?

Answer: Wylie Burp

Drawn as a bloodhound-type dog, Wylie Burp was voiced by the famous Jimmy Stewart. Burp has, by the time Fievel finds him, fairly well given up his law-keeper's ways; he now spends most of his time sleeping on the porch in front of his office. But with a bit of encouragement, and a reminder of what he once was and could be again, he takes a new deputy under his (metaphorical) wing.
3. An unusual choice for best friend, Fievel's buddy is a fat orange tomcat - what is his name, though?

Answer: Tiger

Voiced by Dom DeLuise, Tiger was first introduced in the first "American Tail" film. He is not always well-liked by Fievel's parents since he is, after all, a cat; Tiger usually points out that, though a cat, he is a vegetarian. When he reads the note left for him that explains why the Mousekewitz's are moving west, he is heartbroken and tries to get to the train station before they depart.

While is he moments too late, it does serve to set in motion events that will - eventually! - lead to he and Fievel reuniting.
4. In the course of the movie, Fievel finds a girlfriend.

Answer: False

No girlfriend here! Fievel remains single through the whole film, as does his sister, Tanya. Of course, you could hardly expect a young mouse with as much adventuring to do as Fievel to have time for a girl, now could you?
5. What is taken from the new settlers almost as soon as they arrive in Green River?

Answer: Water

When Papa, Mama, and Tanya arrive in Green River (Fievel has already been separated from the rest of the family), they are happy and relieved to have reached their destination. It isn't long though, before one of the evil henchmen - or, rather, a hench-spider - dams up the waterway.
6. The antagonist for the film is the evil Cat. R. Waul, a scheming feline; who voiced this sneaky villain?

Answer: John Cleese

Although most people are probably more familiar with his work in "Monty Python" sketches, John Cleese does an admirable job voicing the deceptively evil Cat R. Waul. As the villain in a children's movie, he is somewhat limited in scope, but still manages to be sneaky, underhanded, and threatening enough - at least to frighten little mice!
7. Of course, Fievel isn't the only Mousekewitz with big dreams - his sister Tanya longs to be a professional singer. What song is she singing when she is 'discovered'?

Answer: Dreams to Dream

Tanya is actually busy painting a shop window, and singing to herself, when the manager of the soon-to-be-opened saloon in Green River hears her. Overcome by her beautiful song, he immediately wants her for his stage; this, of course, fulfills Tanya's fondest wish of becoming a professional singer. But, as she finds out, sometimes dreaming the dream is better than having it actually come true!
8. As a newcomer to the entertainment business, Tanya is put under the direction of which veteran performer?

Answer: Miss Kitty

Near the start of the film, Miss Kitty is seen leaving Tiger - whom she had been dating - and telling him that she's heading west to find a new life. When she and Tanya are introduced, she reveals to the young mouse that it was Cat R. Waul who lured her out west.

Although Tanya is initially scared of Miss Kitty, the feline soon earns her trust, and even helps her to overcome a bout of stage fright.
9. The climactic battle takes place when the plan to make 'mouseburgers' out of Green River's residents is laid bare. Of course, as with any good western movie, there is a damsel in distress. Which of these female characters is taken hostage during this sequence?

Answer: Miss Kitty

It is Miss Kitty that is taken hostage by the vile hench-spider, T.R. Chula (voiced by Jon Lovitz). Thankfully for her though, the legendary old sheriff Wylie Burp has shown up in Green River... along with some familiar backup!
10. The end of the movie seems like a good place to end a quiz, so tell me - what happens to the vile Cat R. Waul at the end of the story?

Answer: He is last seen being dressed up as a baby and cuddled by a woman on a train.

Once his schemes have not only been exposed, but thwarted as well, there really isn't much reason for Waul to stay in Green River. However, he doesn't get to choose his mode of removal either; he is launched into the air, and lands in a mail bag. This is, of course, picked up by a conveniently passing train; in being grabbed, he is tossed around, and ends up with one of the few humans we see in the film.

She, in turn, dresses him in a bonnet and says that she will take care of her 'pussypoos' "forever, and ever, and ever!"
