Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The film starts with a young Bruce and Rachel running around the gardens of the mansion. Rachel states "finders keepers." To what item is she referring?

Answer: An old arrowhead

Bruce appears to be chasing Rachel because she has found something in the garden that he wants to see. She is hesitant, saying "Finders keepers, and I found it first," to which Bruce replies "In my garden!" Rachel proceeds to open her hand only to let Bruce snatch the arrowhead and almost mockingly reply, "Finders keepers!" As Bruce runs away he stumbles and falls through the wooden cover of an old well.
2. When Bruce is in the prison yard for breakfast, he is confronted by a gang and a fist fight ensues. Where is this prison?

Answer: Bhutan

Bruce is clearly quite capable at thrashing all of these men at once, and once the fight is broken up by the guards, he is taken into a solitary cell. The guard states when asked that it is for protection. Bruce, almost feeling belittled, argues(quite rightly) that he doesn't need protection! The guard then adds that it is for the protection of the prisoners.
3. Bruce is greeted by a man who goes by the name of Ducard, who wants to offer Bruce the path of the League of Shadows. If Bruce is to receive training, what must he bring to the top of the mountain?

Answer: A blue flower

Bruce is released the next day and wastes no time in heading up the mountain in cold, harsh conditions to pursue the flower and thus pursue his training. Bruce is successful, and even though deprived of almost all strength once he has reached the stronghold of Ra's al Ghul, begins his training with Ducard.
4. Bruce is trained by The League of Shadows in forms of martial arts, stealth and most of all, facing his fears. Ra's and Ducard feel that Bruce is ready to lead the men on his first mission. Where is this mission?

Answer: Gotham

Ironically, Bruce is sent to destroy the city that he wants to save. He asks for more time in order to do what he can first, but he is refused. He is also asked as a test of faith to execute a local criminal. Bruce realises that although initially their intentions were the same - to fight crime - they both have very different ideas of how to go about it. Bruce decides it is necessary to destroy the base of operations.

In the struggle, Ra's al Ghul is killed but Bruce manages to save the life of his mentor and friend, Ducard.
5. In Gotham, he decides that a batman would create the perfect symbol in order to strike fear into the heart of criminality. From the department lead by Lucius Fox, he is given a cape, utility belt, and an impressive suit. The biggest difference is the Batmobile. What is it called?

Answer: The Tumbler

A clear friendship has been established between Bruce and Lucius, and he is given an armored military vehicle - the Tumbler. Originally built as a bridging vehicle with immense power and weaponry, it is perfect for Bruce's cause.
6. Bruce's ally is known to many as Gordon. In this film Gordon is the police commissioner.

Answer: False

Gordon is a relatively low ranking cop, but even now he is always dedicated to justice unlike many officers around him. At first Gordon is weary and skeptical of Batman. In fact, after their first meeting he refers to Bruce as "Just some nut."
7. Bruce is ready to make his debut as Batman - and what a debut it is! Bruce has found out from Gordon that Gotham's most powerful crime lord, Carmine Falcone, brings in shipments of drugs and another kind of substance at the docks. Batman quickly and ruthlessly dispatches the thugs and even Falcone. As Batman pulls a terrified Falcone out of his car he says what?

Answer: I'm Batman!

Falcone, accompanied by Gordon's corrupt partner, Flass, realise that something is going very wrong for them and they panic. They are right to do so. Flass is gone and Falcone's driver has been knocked out. Falcone proceeds to load a shotgun and asks, "What are you?" Batman, from the top of the car smashes through the roof and pulls Falcone out, strikes him and literally chains him to a spotlight, thus also marking the debut of the famous Bat-Signal.
8. It is Bruce's birthday, but he must rescue Rachel who has been poisoned with a toxin found from the blue flowers. There is an epic car chase and Rachel is almost killed. This gives way to the inspirational words given earlier to Bruce by Rachel. What were these words?

Answer: It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you.

She said this to him at a party at which she noticed he had been acting quite foolishly. Bruce definitely does not want to give off this impression to the woman he loves, and claims that "I am more underneath", and she replies with these words.
9. At his party he meets his old friend Ducard. The League of Shadows has arrived at Gotham. Ducard is bitter and burns the mansion down. Bruce, being left for dead, is rescued by Alfred, who impatiently remarks what?

Answer: What is the point of all those push ups if you can't even lift a bloody log?

Bruce is unsure of himself, so Alfred asks him the same question that his father once asked Bruce, "Why do we fall?" The answer being "So we can learn to pick ourselves up." Bruce goes on to gear up and attempt valiantly to stop Ducard and save the entire city from a nasty destruction.
10. At the end, there is a scene with Gordon with an official Bat-Signal. Many of the inmates of Arkham have been freed. Gordon hands Batman a piece of evidence from the newest criminal threat. The evidence is a card which would imply that this villain is whom?

Answer: The Joker

The scene develops their collective confidence in Batman himself - especially now that the Joker is at large and has already committed a double murder according to Gordon. Will Batman and Gordon be able to stop the Joker??
