Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The film started with some archival footage from the original film. Afterwards, it was shown that three of the members of the American Karate team had opened up their own Karate school. The scene then shifted to a building in Las Vegas. Hidden beneath the building was a violent fighting arena called The Coliseum, where people were routinely murdered for entertainment purposes. What lay above the arena to make the building seem like a legitimate business?

Answer: A dance club

The three fighters who opened up the martial arts club were Tommy Lee, Alexander Grady and Travis Brickley.
Disguised within a dance club called The Stock Exchange, lay one of the most violent fighting competitions around. The winnings were quite good, with a first victory earning a fighter twenty-thousand dollars and a victory over Brakus, the building's owner, resulting in a twenty-million dollar a year income.
2. After showing the illegal arena, two fighters were summoned into the ring. One was a French Muay-Thai fighter and the other was one of the members from the American Karate team. Who was that member?

Answer: Travis Brickley

To quench his need to show off, Travis enlisted himself to fight at The Coliseum. Off-screen, Travis defeated three of the arena's fighters before being put up against a French fighter. Travis used his no-nonsense fighting style to defeat his opponent. After winning, Travis challenged Brakus to a fight, believing that he could win.
3. To move away from the dark, disturbing atmosphere of The Coliseum, the scene shifted to Walter Grady's black belt test. Did he pass his test?

Answer: No

Walter excelled in almost every aspect of his test. His patterns were excellent, his sparring was fantastic and his self-defense demonstration was masterful. The one aspect which he could not do was what cost him his promotion. He was unable to break a brick, and that inability was what caused his failure. Even though he failed, Walter's father was proud of him because of the way that he dealt with his defeat.
4. After hearing his dad comment on how much of a man he was, Walter phoned his babysitter and had her cancel. He was insistent on staying home alone, but Alex knew better. He called Travis to take Walter with him. Where did Travis tell Alex that he was going to go?

Answer: Bowling

When Walter went outside to tell Travis to take him with him, Travis was insistent that he not go, because he wasn't going bowling. Walter insisted that he go, because a burglar could get him. Travis allowed him to tag along, and informed him that he wasn't going bowling, because he was going to fight Brakus at The Coliseum.
5. After protecting his unbeaten streak, seen at the beginning of the film, Travis fought against Brakus, but ended up getting killed. How did the people involved cover up the murder?

Answer: They made the death look like a car accident.

Tommy was the first to discover Travis's cadaver. Even though it was obvious that he had his neck broken after being beaten, the police insisted it was a car accident. Travis's car and his body were both dumped into the water in front of the Hoover Dam. Because of the nature of the injuries and the fact that Walter witnessed the murder, Tommy and Alex were not convinced by the excuses that the staff of The Coliseum gave them.
6. To retaliate for their snoopiness, Brakus' goons tried to kill Alexander Grady and his son Walter, while trying to capture Tommy Lee. After beating the attackers, the three people went to hide at a place familiar to Tommy. What was it?

Answer: A Native-American reserve

Tommy went to live at the reserve as a child, immediately after his real brother was killed by Dae Han. He referred to the lady who lived there as his grandmother. She proved to be a very loving character, who was insistent on helping Tommy, Alex and Walter.
7. To start their training, Tommy and Alex moved items to and from a garage. Thinking that Tommy's and Alex's training method was not enough, Tommy's drunken step-brother James said that to beat Brakus, they'd have to alter their method. What made James such an expert on Brakus?

Answer: He had fought and barely survived against Brakus.

The story behind James was that he was a once a very skilled fighter. He took his mother's life savings and then left the reserve to pursue his fighting career. He went overseas to fight and then went back to America. He was badly injured in a car accident and then became a drunk. According to James, when he was teaching Tommy and Alex how to fight, he was not in a car crash, and that the car he referred to was actually Brakus.
8. What did Alex, Walter, Tommy's foster mother and a native elder do to make the enemies think that they were dead?

Answer: Fired four shots into the air, one bullet meant for each of them.

As they slept, Brakus' hired goons sneaked into the reserve and held Tommy Lee, Alexander Grady, Walter Grady and two others hostage. They wanted Tommy alive but no-one else. James tried to get rid of them with a shotgun, but he was killed by one of the fighters via a shot to the head. Tommy was flown away as Alex and Walter defeated the man who was to execute them. Alex fired one shot into the man's foot and then a further three into the air.

As the goons took Tommy, they blew up the house. To survive, Alex and the other three people hid in the house's underground cellar.
9. Who turned up to assist Alex and Tommy in their fight against Brakus and security guards in The Colisuem?

Answer: Dae Han, Sae Jin Kwon and Yung June

The first time the three men showed up was at Travis' funeral. They offered to help bring Travis' killers to justice, but Tommy told them not to get involved. After Tommy was captured, they insisted on helping. The three men waited for Alex to arrive.

At one comical point, during their wait, a rowdy Texan asked where the three men were from. Dae Han mispronounced Houston and made the man laugh. Once Alex arrived, an exciting series of fights began.
10. What was the outcome of the fight, between Tommy Lee and Brakus?

Answer: Brakus was killed and Tommy claimed victory.

After his capture, Tommy's first fight was against a boxer. Tommy broke the man's right knee and right arm, rendering the man useless. His second fight was against an Olympic wrestler. Tommy defeated the man without getting hit himself. Tommy's third fight was against the man who killed James.

It was a slightly tougher fight, but once the man began to get desperate by using weapons, Tommy defeated him. Tommy's fight against Brakus had mixed results. The hand-to-hand portion was Tommy's strength. Tommy took advantage of Brakus in that aspect. Brakus was superior to Tommy in weapons fighting, and after repeated hits with a metal pole, the fight started to look grim for Tommy. Once Alex showed up, Tommy beat Brakus to the ground. Tommy said that he'd spare Brakus' life if he stayed on the ground.

As Tommy turned around, Brakus bolted up and tried to kill Tommy. Tommy elbowed him, and then twisted him around, grabbing his neck in the meantime. Tommy broke Brakus' neck. In winning the match, Tommy was given sole ownership of The Coliseum.

His first announcement, as the new owner, was that The Coliseum was closed.
