Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bill and Ted's history teacher assigned a report in which they had to describe how certain historical figures would act in present-day situations. What was the name of the teacher who assigned the report to the class?

Answer: Mr. Ryan

Mr. Ryan was played by Bernie Casey, who also played such memorable characters as Colonel Rhumbus in "Spies Like Us", U.N. Jefferson in "Revenge of the Nerds", and John Slade in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka".
2. What was Bill's new mom's first name?

Answer: Missy

"Thanks, Missy...I mean, Mom."
Missy married Bill's dad soon after she graduated from high school. She was a senior when Bill and Ted were freshmen. Bill could never get used to calling her "Mom". Bill also had what he described as "just a slight Oedipal complex".
3. According to Ted, who "had wooden teeth and chased Moby Dick"?

Answer: George Washington

Ted said this when they just began working on their history report. Bill told him, "That's Captain Ahab, Dude." Ted asked Bill, "Have you ever made a mushroom out of his head?" The only thing they knew about Caesar was that he was "a salad dressing dude".
4. Finish the quote: "Strange things are afoot ___________."

Answer: at the Circle K

Ted said the quote after two telephone booths fell from the sky. Bill and Ted were hanging out at the Circle K convenience store while they were preparing their history report. This was where they met Rufus for the first time.
5. After they took Napoleon back to San Dimas, who became the first historical figure Bill and Ted took with them in the phone booth?

Answer: Billy The Kid

They went to the Old West circa 1879, where they played poker with Billy The Kid and a few other tinhorns. The Kid told Bill and Ted, "Here's the deal - whatever I win, I keep; whatever you win, I keep." Just to clarify: they didn't actually take Napoleon with them in the booth; Napoleon accidentally got caught in the Circuits of Time with them, which gave them the idea to go and find more historical figures to bring back to San Dimas.
6. What did Bill and Ted use to coax Genghis Khan into the phone booth?

Answer: Twinkie

"Would you like a Twinkie, Genghis Khan?" The Khan came to love Twinkies because of the excellent sugar rush.
7. How did they trick Abraham Lincoln into opening the door to the Oval Office?

Answer: Candygram

Honest Abe opened the door, and Genghis Khan yanked him out of the Oval Office.
8. Which historical figure "totally ravaged Oshman's Sporting Goods"?

Answer: Genghis Khan

The Khan took an aluminum baseball bat to a mannequin, which drew the attention of the mall police, who then chased the Khan through the store and the mall. In my opinion, it wasn't entirely the Khan's fault; the mannequin provoked him.
9. What was the name of the waterpark where the guys finally found Napoleon, after Deacon ditched him?

Answer: Waterloo

If you were one of the greatest generals in history and you were stranded in San Dimas for one day, where would you go? Where else...Waterloo, of course!
10. Which historical figure was called a "geek" by the young girl in the mall?

Answer: Sigmund Freud

As Billy the Kid and Socrates were talking with two girls in the mall, Sigmund Freud came over. The girls thought he was kind of nerdy and started laughing.

Freud: "Hello, I'm Dr. Freud, but you may call me Siggy. You seem to be suffering from a mild case of hysteria."
Girl: "You are such a geek."
(The girls walk away)
Billy The Kid: "Way to go, Egghead."
Socrates: "Geek!"
Freud: "What is a geek?"
11. The bartender never asked Bill and Ted for proof of age when they went into the Old West saloon and asked for two beers.

Answer: True

The guys walked into the saloon where they met Billy the Kid. They sat down and ordered beers. I guess there was no established drinking age back in the 1870s.

Bill: "Two beers, please."
Ted: "Whoa! He didn't even card us, Dude!"
Bill: "Yeah, we're gonna have to remember this place."
12. Why did Bill and Ted decide to bring Sigmund Freud back to San Dimas with them?

Answer: Extra credit

The guys noticed Freud standing on a street corner and decided to bring him along on the trip.

Bill: "Dude, it's Sigmund Frood. How much time have we got left?"
Ted: "Tons. Why?
Bill: "Extra credit, Dude."
Then they took the "Frood Dude" along with them.
13. Finish the quote: Bill: "Come on, Ted, this is a history report, not a babe report." Ted: "But, Bill, those are ________________ babes!"

Answer: Historical

The British princesses, Joanna and Elizabeth, were played by Diane Franklin ("Better Off Dead", "The Last American Virgin") and Kimberley LaBelle ("Dangerous Love"), respectively. In the future, the Princesses became members of the Wyld Stallyns band.
14. Which member of the Go-Go's portrayed Joan of Arc in the movie?

Answer: Jane Wiedlin

Jane Wiedlin, aged 30 at the time, played the teenage Joan of Arc. Wiedlin became well known in the early 1980's as rhythm guitarist for the Go-Go's, and later as a solo artist.
15. When Bill and Ted introduced the historical figures to Bill's new mom, who was the only figure referred to by his true first and last names?

Answer: Abraham Lincoln

The phone booth landed in Bill's backyard, where Missy was watering the flowers.

Ted: "Uh, Ms. Preston, we'd like you to meet some of our friends."
Bill: "Yeah, this is Dave Beeth-oven, and uh, Maxine Of Arc, Herman the Kid."
Ted: "Bob Ghengis Khan, So-crates Johnson, Dennis Frood, and uh...Abraham Lincoln."
Missy: "Well, it's nice to meet you all. There are sodas in the fridge."
