The film started with an elderly man reminiscing about his early childhood and how the events of what happened that fateful summer affected his life. Julie Christie played Marian Maudsley, the daughter of the house. Alan Bates played the role of the neighbour, Ted Burgess.

They used the young boy as a go-between, delivering letters between the lovers. The film ended in tragedy when the affair was discovered, and with the suicide death of Ted.

Luxton Town and District bus company found themselves short staffed and Inspector Blake started employing women drivers, to the dismay of the bus crews. So followed a battle between the sexes, which included a scene where the women were given pills to make them incontinent while they were driving. Reg Varney played the main character, Stan Butler.

Jessica Van Helsing (Stephanie Beacham) was invited to a black magic ceremony where Johnny Alucard carried out a bloody ritual. Dracula was resurrected with the help of Alucard, Dracula spelt backwards, who was a disciple of the Count. Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) assisted the police with their investigation after the body of a female was discovered. Alucard kidnapped Jessica but was soon located and killed by Van Helsing.

A trap was set for Dracula and he suffered the same fate as many vampires before him - a stake through the heart.
4. 1973. This film was based on a book by Frederick Forsyth about an assassin who plotted to kill French president Charles de Gaulle. What was the name of this thriller?

Answer: The Day of the Jackal

A French terrorist group hired The Jackal to assassinate the president. The Jackal, played by Edward Fox, prepared for the assassination by obtaining fake passports, a modified rifle and a disguise. Close on his tail was Deputy Commissioner Claude Lebel, played by Michael Lonsdale.

The hunt for The Jackal became public after he murdered a married woman en route to Paris. De Gaulle attended a medal ceremony on Liberation Day. The Jackal misfired from his gun and was shot dead in his apartment by Lebel.
5. 1974. 'Murder on the Orient Express' is one of the best known stories by writer Agatha Christie. Who played the role of Hercule Poirot, in the 1974 film version?

Answer: Albert Finney

One of the passengers on the Orient Express was receiving threats and he approached Poirot for his help. The passenger was found murdered that same night. Poirot was played by Albert Finney. He was born in Lancashire, 1936, and studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

He can be remembered for his role as Daddy Warbucks in 'Annie' (1982). More recently he appeared in 'Ocean's Twelve' (2004) and 'The Bourne Ultimatum' (2007).

Answer: One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing

Escaping from his Chinese captors, Lord Southmere ran inside the Natural History Museum. He hid a stolen microfilm, containing the formula for 'Lotus X', inside the bones of a relic dinosaur. Lord Southmere, played by Derek Nimmo, enlisted the help of his former nanny and together they tried to foil the Chinese spies.

The dinosaur was stolen from the museum on the back of a lorry, and there followed a hilarious chase through the foggy streets of London. The wrong dinosaur was stolen and the microfilm was safely recovered from the bones of another.

Hitler had a subtle plan to kidnap Winston Churchill and bring him to Germany. The kidnap was to take place while Churchill visited an airfield in Norfolk, UK. Kurt Steiner, played by Michael Caine, was in charge of the mission and along with his platoon of men, infiltrated the Norfolk village dressed as Polish airmen. Also hired to assist was IRA member, Liam Devlin.

The plan was foiled when one of the Germans was unveiled and a shoot out took place in the village.

Answer: The Spy Who Loved Me

Nuclear submarines started to disappear and Bond travelled to Egypt in search of a microfilm, which detailed a submarine tracking system. He worked with Major Anya Amasova, played by Barbara Bach, and together they had their first encounter with the steel toothed assassin, Jaws. Stromberg was identified as the man behind the plot and his secret city under the sea, Atlantis, was soon located. Stromberg was killed by Bond, and Jaws was thrown to the sharks, where he miraculously survived. Bond and Amasova fled in an escape pod and Atlantis was destroyed.

Fiver was a young rabbit who had prophetic abilities and he urged some of his companions to leave the warren they lived in as he sensed danger. Fiver left the warren along with Hazel, Bigwig, Blackberry, Pipkin, Dandelion, Silver, and Violet. The following morning, Violet was killed by a hawk. Fiver led his friends to a new warren called Watership Down, but they soon encountered enemies from a neighbouring warren called Efrafa. Watership Down was soon besieged but the friends cleverly enticed a farmer's dog who quickly killed the Efrafan rabbits.
10. 1979. 'Life of Brian' told the story of Brian Cohen, a young man who was born not far from Jesus Christ, and who people mistook for the Messiah. Which of the Monty Python team played the lead role of Brian?

Answer: Graham Chapman

Brian, the son of Naughtius Maximus, grew up hating the Romans and joined the 'Peoples' Front of Judea'. After various misadventures, he was mistaken for the Messiah. His mother quoted in the film "He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!" Graham Chapman was born in Leicester, 1941, and initially attended Cambridge University to study medicine.

It was there that he started writing comedy sketches and met fellow Python, John Cleese. He was one of the first actors to come out as gay, and he sadly died of a rare spinal cancer in 1989.
