Answer: Harry Melling

Melling, born in 1989 in London, England was cast in the role of Dudley Dursley. Dudley was the spoiled child of Vernon and Petunia Dursley. Dudley celebrated his birthday and asked how many birthday gifts he got. His parents said 36 and he screamed since he got 37 the previous year. To make it up to Dudley, his parents promised him two more gifts, after they went to the zoo.

It was here that Dudley leaned on the glass at the reptile house and the glass disappeared, which caused Dudley to fall into water.

When he got up to get out, the glass reappeared and sealed him into the exhibit. Petunia and Vernon blamed Harry for this. Melling reprised his role as Dudley in "Harry Potter and Chamber of Secrets", "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

He also starred in the TV film, "Friends and Crocodiles".

Answer: Fiona Shaw

Shaw, a native of County Cork, Ireland, portrayed Petunia Dursley, Harry Potter's aunt and the wife of Vernon Dursley. We first saw Petunia when she knocked on Harry's door (Harry resided in a room under the stairs) to get him to wake up for breakfast.

After several letters flew into the Dursley's residence, that said Harry was to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Dursleys and Harry went to a private island where no letters would come for him. Petunia told Harry how her parents loved her sister, Lily (Harry's mother), and were glad when she became a witch at Hogwarts. Petunia said she knew she was a freak and Harry would be the same way.

She claimed that Lily went and got herself blown up. This was when Harry stopped her and said that she and Vernon told him that his parents, James and Lily Potter, died in a car crash. Shaw starred in the films, "The Butcher Boy", "Super Mario Bros." and "London Kills Me".

Answer: Richard Griffiths

Griffiths played Vernon Dursley, the uncle of Harry Potter. When Harry received a letter, Uncle Vernon wondered who would send Harry anything. That was when he took the letter and destroyed it. However, many letters flew into Vernon's home and Harry caught one of them. Harry ran back to his room to lock the door and tried to read it but Vernon caught him before he could see its contents. Vernon took his family to an island and that was where Hagrid came to find Harry. Hagrid told Harry he was a wizard and that he would go off to Hogwarts. Vernon said Harry would not go anywhere and also insulted Dumbledore. Griffiths had guest stints on many TV shows like, "Hope & Glory", "Gormenghast" and "Pie in the Sky".

Answer: Maggie Smith

Dame Maggie Smith took on the role of Minerva McGonagall. Professor McGonagall was a stern but loving professor at Hogwarts and was the head of Gryffindor house. She had the power to award and take away points from any house at Hogwarts. When the students first entered Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall told them they would be sorted into their houses via The Sorting Hat.

When Harry showed great flying skills, McGonagall told a Keeper on the Quidditch team for Gryffindor that she wanted Harry to be the Seeker. Near the end of the film, Professor McGonagall disciplined Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco for being out after hours. Maggie Smith had parts in the films, "Hook", "The First Wives Club" and "Sister Act".

She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the film, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie", as well as an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for "California Suite".

Answer: John Cleese

Cleese, a native of Somerset, England portrayed Nearly Headless Nick. The reason why he was Nearly Headless Nick and not Headless Nick was that he could only remove his head to a certain point and reveal the insides of his neck. He introduced himself to the new students of Gryffindor House on their first night at Hogwarts, during their feast.

Hermione asked him how he could be nearly headless and he showed her and the rest of the students how. Nearly Headless Nick was seen later on when he commented about Harry Potter as a Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Cleese had roles in movies like "Man About Town", "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Rat Race." He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1989 for "A Fish Called Wanda."

Answer: Zoe Wanamaker

Wanamaker, born on May 13th, 1949 in New York was cast as Madam Hooch. Hooch was first seen when she instructed the students on flying. The first part of the lesson was for the students to stand beside their broomsticks. Hooch instructed the students to say "Up!" in order to get the broom to fly up to their hand.

She then told the students to mount their brooms and that was when Neville Longbottom's broom started flying up into the sky, while he was on the broom. Neville ended up injured and Madam Hooch took him to the infirmary.

She told the students that nobody was to fly until she got back or else they would be expelled from Hogwarts. We saw Madam Hooch at the Quidditch match up between Gryffindor and Slytherin. She told the participants she wanted a nice and clean game.

When Harry caught the snitch to end the game, Madam Hooch ruled that Gryffindor had won. Wanamaker had guest spots on the TV series' "Doctor Who", "Performance" and "Love Hurts".

Answer: Sean Biggerstaff

Biggerstaff, a native of Glasgow, Scotland took on the role of Oliver Wood. We first saw Oliver when McGonagall interrupted Professor Quirrell's class to speak to Mr. Wood. McGonagall introduced Harry to Oliver and told Oliver that Harry would be the Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. One day, Oliver took Harry out to the fields and told Harry how the game was played and the different roles of the various team members. Oliver told Harry that he was the Keeper for the Gryffindor team. Oliver warned Harry to be careful of bludgers since they could hit someone and severely harm them.

He told Harry that all he had to worry about during the game was catching the snitch. If he caught the snitch, it would end the game and they would be victorious. During the Quidditch match, Oliver suffered a blow to his chest from a bludger but he survived. Biggerstaff played various characters in films like, "The Winter Guest", "Cashback" and "X on a Map".

Answer: Emma Watson

Watson played Hermione Granger, a very good friend to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. We first met Hermione on the Hogwarts Express, the train that took the students to Hogwarts. She performed a spell on Harry that repaired his eyeglasses and then told both Harry and Ron that they had better change into robes. About midway through the movie, Hermione told Harry about his parents and how he would be a great wizard since his father was also a wonderful wizard.

There was one scene where Hermione, Ron and Harry were looking for the Sorcerer's Stone and were stuck in Devil's Snare, a creature that could kill anyone if they struggled and/or panicked.

She told Harry and Ron to relax or else the Devil's Snare would kill them. She relaxed and therefore was released from Devil's Snare. Harry relaxed as well and also got released. Ron panicked and Hermione recalled a spell she learned from herbology class to kill Devil's Snare and therefore save Ron's life. Watson reprised her role of Hermione in the films, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

She was also in the film, "Ballet Shoes".

Answer: Ian Hart

Hart, born on October 8th, 1964, in Liverpool, England portrayed Professor Quirinus Quirrell. Professor Quirrell taught Defense Against the Dark Arts and then revealed at the end of the movie that Lord Voldemort lived off of him as a parasite. Harry figured out that Quirrell let a troll into Hogwarts one night in order to create a diversion so he could get to the Sorcerer's Stone. Quirrell told Harry that he could join him and accomplish great things and that he could bring back his parents. Harry saw his parents in the mirror but they disappeared, so he called Quirrell a liar.

The Sorcerer's Stone was in Harry's pocket and Quirrell fought with Harry to get it but Harry killed Quirrell. Hart had guest roles on the TV series', "Dirt", "Medics" and "One Summer".

Answer: Alan Rickman

Rickman was cast in the role of Severus Snape, the professor who taught Potions and was the head of Slytherin House. We found out earlier that Snape had been fighting for Quirrell's job, Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, for years. One day, Harry noticed blood on Snape's leg and it was prior to this that Harry, Ron and Hermione went to the forbidden third floor and saw the three headed guard dog, Fluffy.

However, Snape's leg was bitten the night the troll entered Hogwarts. At the end of the movie, it was revealed that Snape chanted a counter curse to a curse Quirrell put on Harry at the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Rickman had parts in the movies, "Quigley Down Under", "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" and "Dogma".
