Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Hats for bats. Keep bats warm. Gracias."

Answer: Major League

Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert) said after grabbing a furry golf club cover from the golfbag of third baseman, Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen). Cerrano placed the cover on his bat and wandered off. Dorn thought it best not to start anything with the very large Mr. Cerrano, and he let him take the cover. "Major League" is one of the classic comedies of all time.
2. "And that's the only thing I need is this! I don't need this or this, just this ashtray. And this paddle game; the ashtray and the paddle game, and that's all I need...and this remote control. The ashtray and the paddle game and the remote control, and that's all I need...and these matches. The ashtray and these matches and the remote control and the paddle ball...and this lamp."

Answer: The Jerk

Navin R. Johnson (Steve Martin) said this while in a drunken state when he was leaving his wife and his home and was walking out the door. He also picked up a magazine and a chair during this rant and walked out the door with his pants down to his ankles.

He later traded all these items to a bum for a thermos with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in. This movie is one of the all-time classics.
3. "Mama says alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush."

Answer: The Waterboy

Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler) stood up in class and said this to his college professor after he asked the class why alligators are so mean. The professor (aka Colonel Sanders) said that his Mama was wrong; this resulted in the professor being bandaged and splinted after Bobby gave him a flying tackle. Bobby realized later that Mama was wrong, and that it was the workings of the alligator's "MEDULLA OBLONGATA" that made him so ornery. What a movie!
4. "Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners!"

Answer: Super Troopers

"Trooper Rodney Farva (Kevin Heffernan) said this to Trooper Arcot Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar) after they were made partners. The troopers would like to freak out the people they pull over with little routines like the "cat police" ("You're not laughing meow, are ya?"), and making the teenagers smoke the entire bag of marijuana they threw out the window.
5. "I know; we could have the police send over one of their sketch artists, and Ms. Balbricker could give a description."

Answer: Porky's

This was said by Coach Brakett (Boyd Gaines) in the presence of Principal Carter (Eric Christmas), Ms. Balbricker (Nancy Parsons), and the other two boys' coaches. They were throwing around ideas regarding how to deal with Tommy Turner (Wyatt Knight) after his tallywhacker was "last seen hanging out in the girls' locker room at Angel Beach High".

They all cracked up laughing (except for Ms. Balbricker, of course). Principal Carter tried to keep a straight face for as long as possible, but completely lost it after this crack. "Please, do not attempt to apprehend [it], as it is armed and dangerous." One of the funniest scenes in movie history.
6. "Jeffrey Dahmer?! Jeffrey Dahmer?! I love that guy!"

Answer: Demolition Man

The evil Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) says this when he sees all the mass murderers and serial killers who were cryogenically frozen. He wanted to thaw out all the greatest villians in world history to help him take over the planet. Billed as a sci-fi, action flick, "Demolition Man" is hilarious from start to finish. Sly Stallone and Sandra Bullock are great together.
7. "Try an association, such as: Let's say the average person uses ten percent of his brain. How much do YOU use...one and a half percent. The rest is filled with malted hops and bong resin."

Answer: Tommy Boy

Richard Hayden (David Spade) said this to Tommy Callahan (Chris Farley) when Richard was quizzing Tommy on some of the policies and procedures used at Callahan Auto Parts. The carrying charge for merchandise in the warehouse was one and a half percent. Tommy couldn't remember, so Richard used this variation on the association game.
8. "I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this."

Answer: Dumb and Dumber

Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) said this to Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) after seeing the plains of the Midwest. They were supposed to have reached Colorado that morning, but Lloyd got on the eastbound highway instead of westbound, and drove them "a sixth of the way across the country in the wrong direction".

However, Lloyd was able to "totally redeem" himself later on when he traded the van for a mini-bike.
9. "Instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace. But the shopkeeper and his son, that's a different story altogether; I had to beat them to death with their own shoes."

Answer: Wayne's World 2

Del Preston (Ralph Brown) told this story to the other roadies while training them for Waynestock. It was his favorite memory of being on tour as a roadie (and probably his only memory). It happened "in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) at about 3:00 in the morning", with the help of Keith Moon and David Crosby, while they were "looking for 1,000 brown M&M's to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night". Preston actually told this story (or bits and pieces of it) several times during the movie.
10. "Last night, Darth Vader came down from the planet Vulcan, and told me that if I didn't take Lorraine out that he'd melt my brain."

Answer: Back to the Future

The young George McFly (Crispin Glover) said this to Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) the morning after Marty appeared in George's bedroom wearing an anti-radiation suit and blasting music into George's ears through a Walkman. All this was an attempt to get George to take Lorraine to the "Enchantment Under the Sea Dance".

After all, George was her "density". This one was especially for you, LorraineMcFly.
11. "He's a beach dog."

Answer: Summer School

Freddie Shoop (Mark Harmon), said this to the cops when they were arresting him for furnishing alcohol to minors. The cops also threatened to fine him for having a dog on the beach. He tried to lie his way out of it by saying, "That's not my dog. He's a stray. I found him on the beach.

He's a beach dog." "Summer School" (1987) is a very funny, yet underrated, comedy movie. It also stars Kirstie Alley, Dean Cameron, Shawnee Smith, and Courtney Thorne-Smith.
12. "He's nothing; don't worry about him. It's The Blimp next to him...The Blimp! When he puts on that mask, he'll blow your damn doors off!"

Answer: The Cannonball Run

Jamie Blake (Dean Martin) said this to his partner, Morris Fenderbaum (Sammy Davis, Jr.) before the start of the race when they were sizing up their competition. The Blimp was Victor Prinzim, aka Captain Chaos, (Dom Deluise) and his partner was J.J. McClure (Burt Reynolds). Victor "always wanted to be Captain USA."
13. "I bet she gives great helmet!"

Answer: Spaceballs

Lord Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) said this to Colonel Sandurz (George Wyner) after seeing a good looking nurse on board their spaceship. Yogurt also knew, "Merchandising, that's where the real money is. Spaceballs: The T-Shirt, Spaceballs: The Coloring Book, Spaceballs: The Lunch Box, Spaceballs: The Breakfast Cereal, Spaceballs: The Flamethrower." He's right, though; it is all about merchandising.
14. "Over? Did you say, 'Over'? Nothing is over until we say it is. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell, no. And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the going get tough, the tough get going. Who's with me? Let's go!"

Answer: Animal House

Bluto (John Belushi) said this in response to the comment by D-Day (Bruce McGill) that, "The war's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one." Bluto and the boys went on to trash the homecoming parade and exact their revenge. In what is arguably the greatest comedy movie of all time, this is the scene that will live in infamy. "Germans?"
15. "It's a tough world and these kids nearly got 'munsoned', but they're back."

Answer: Kingpin

Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray) said this on a public service announcement which was broadcast on TV during the bowling tournament. "Big Ern", as he liked to be called, was a member of an organization that provided "big brothers" for young boys without fathers. McCracken vowed to sponsor a child in every city in which he bowled; that was, if the kids had young, good-looking, single mothers.

The term 'munsoned' grew out of the main character's name. Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) was told by his father when he was young that someday the name 'Munson' would be synonymous with 'champion'. Roy became a drunken loser, and the term 'munson' instead became synonymous with 'failure'.

A truly unforgettable (and hilarious) exercise in irony. "Big Ern" also had another great quote when he told a diner waitress, "Doll, do me a favor. Wash off that perfume before coming back to this table. Thanks." Very, very funny movie.
