Question 1 of 10
1. These days Peter Jackson is the renowned director of the "Lord of the Rings" triology. But before this Kiwi was hobnobbing with the likes of hobbits and elves, Jackson was making flicks like "Meet the Feebles" (1989), a movie that can only be described as puppet porn and not for the faint of heart. One of my favorite Peter Jackson flicks, however, stars Timothy Balme as Lionel and his girlfriend Paquita. When Lionel's mother gets bitten by a "rat monkey" and subsequently becomes a zombie quickly infecting the rest of the town, Lionel and Paquita must take out the zombie, which they do with haste, employing a lawnmower (clever indeed) in a scene that rivals the "Evil Dead" series in sheer excessive blood. What is the name of the movie? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Many people don't know that esteemed film critic Roger Ebert wrote the screenplay to the trash, camp masterpiece "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" (1970). It stars Edy Williams, Dolly Read, John La Zar (of "Deathstalker II" fame if anyone is interested) and Charles Napier, a most excellent and prolific character actor. You have to really see it, but on a basic level it's about an all-girl rock group that goes to LA in search of stardom. The moral of the story you ask? What morals?! Apparently people in LA like to dress up in Wonder Woman costumes and take peyote?! Who knew?! Ok, here is the question: what is the name of the all-girl rock group? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Ok, now for some classic drive-in fare, and if you're like me, whose parents worked at a drive-in, you can appreciate the nature of the experience. The surprisingly popular "Billy Jack" (1971) series, directed, written and yes, starring Tom Laughlin as half breed, martial arts, ex Green Beret, Billy Jack was a box office hit and also spawned a Top 40 hit with the song "Tin Soldier". However, before Billy Jack was kicking ass in the name of hippies and half breeds everywhere, he appeared in a 1967 film about a motorcycle gang that terrorizes a small town. What was the name of the film? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Everyone loves a good post-apocalyptic/nuke film! I love referencing this next film because although it is UPN/WB Saturday afternoon fare, it has not necessarily made it into the public consciousness. Anyone who knows the film (much like that Jami Gertz/Jason Patric masterpiece "Solarbabies") I welcome with open arms. It stars Rutger Hauer and Joan Chen in a post-nuke ultraviolent "football"/sports team (dog skulls are used as "balls" of sorts). What is the name of this film? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. What John Waters' film features "The Cavalcade of Perversion" and Divine getting ravaged by Lobstora, a "man-sized" lobster, for no real reason? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. In what Alex Cox film does the always awesome Dick Rude say "Let's go get sushi and not pay" for it? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. What is NOT a Troma Production? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. In the 80s came a film and a duck (from space) who was hated on both sides of the Mason-Dixon. His name was Howard. Way to go executive producer George Lucas! What actress played the lead singer of the Cleveland rock band and, ahem, Howard's love interest in the film "Howard the Duck"? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. Ok back to the truly bizarre. What Alejandro Jodorowsky film is basically the plot of "Psycho" but set in Mexico, complete with circus folk and other creepy sideshows? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. And now onto Mr. Creeperific, David Cronenberg, who has managed to worm his way into the mainstream. We are talking the big time, I mean "The Fly", "Scanners", "Crash", the guy has done it all and most recently this film. For some reason the image of Jennifer Jason Leigh inserting that "tube" into the base of her spine made me want to yak. What is the name of this film? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
What is the name of the movie?

Answer: Dead Alive

There is an alternate New Zealand title for "Dead Alive" called "Braindead" (1992).

Answer: The Carrie Nations

What's funny about this fictional girl-group is that their songs are actually really good! It's hard to find the soundtrack but a quick search under the Carrie Nations or the "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" soundtrack should yield results. Some of my favorite songs are "Candyman" and "In the Long Run".

Answer: Born Losers

Two more Billy Jack films were made, both really terrible. "The Trial of Billy Jack" and "Billy Jack Goes to Washington".

Answer: The Blood of Heroes

The guy who wrote "The Blood of Heroes" also wrote the script for
"Blade Runner".
5. What John Waters' film features "The Cavalcade of Perversion" and Divine getting ravaged by Lobstora, a "man-sized" lobster, for no real reason?

Answer: Multiple Maniacs

What John Waters movie does NOT feature Divine getting violated by a giant lobster?! I mean really.
6. In what Alex Cox film does the always awesome Dick Rude say "Let's go get sushi and not pay" for it?

Answer: Repo Man

"Repo Man" of course! I love this movie! I mean, if it wasn't for "Repo Man" and "Young Guns", I honestly do not know how I would feel about Emilio Estevez.
7. What is NOT a Troma Production?

Answer: Cannibal High

"Cannibal High". Imagine? If high school wasn't bad enough!

Answer: Lea Thompson

Lea went on to star in the "sexually enlightening" 1988 film "Casual Sex" with Andrew Dice Clay.
9. Ok back to the truly bizarre. What Alejandro Jodorowsky film is basically the plot of "Psycho" but set in Mexico, complete with circus folk and other creepy sideshows?

Answer: Santa Sangre

Wow. I don't want to say too much, only I suggest eating after the fact. As an aside, Dario Argento's brother produced this movie.

Answer: eXistenz

And he's Canadian to boot! Boy was this quiz random! If you liked it though, maybe I will make another one!
