Joyce: "I was willing to sacrifice my life for you! Is that selfishness?"

Don: "Yes, because you were afraid to risk losing me by telling me you had a husband. So instead you lied, and ruined me! And your husband: what it's cost him to love you. Why, you never paid for any happiness in your whole life! You owe for it! It cost everybody else but you. [sighs] I can't afford anymore...if there's one thing I know: if you're ever going to be anything but a jinx, you better start paying off because you're in debt for the rest of your life!"

After Joyce gets better she thinks about killing herself but ends up deciding against it and reopens the show. Don ends up forgiving her after the show becomes a success.
