Madeline stars in "Songbird", a musical version of "Sweet Bird of Youth". Dr. Ernest Menville, her future husband, loves it, but everybody else hates it. Some people fall asleep in the theatre and others just leave.

When Helen is talking to Ernest during her book party, she reassures Ernest that it was Madeline's fault that they broke up. Helen says, "She's a woman. A woman Ernest. From Newark, God's sakes". Madeline overhears all of this and realises Helen isn't as nice and soft as she used to be.

After Madeline falls down the stairs and breaks her neck, she doesn't die because of the potion she drank. She gets up off the floor and has a little bit of trouble walking because her head is on backwards. When Ernest sees her, he freaks out. He tells her to stay away from him.

She says, "You bet I will! Animal! Psycho! Wife pusher!". I think this scene was done really well, especially for 1992.

Ernest tries to find a doctor for his wife after she passes out, but when he returns to the room, he finds it empty. He asks the nurse where Madeline is, and she tells him Madeline was taken to the morgue. Upon hearing this he yells, "The morgue! She'll be furious!". I think that would have to be one of my favorite lines in the whole movie.

Madeline says this after she shoots Helen in the stomach. But Helen also drank the potion, so she can't die either. Helen and Madeline then proceed to duel with shovels.

Helen cries but Madeline doesn't. She didn't love him and only married him to hurt Helen, and to get free plastic surgery. Helen makes the mistake of crying at the funeral, which makes her face go runny. This is another hilarious scene.

Helen is angry that Madeline lost a can of spray paint. She asks Madeline where she last saw it. Madeline asks Helen to tell her when that question ever helped her find something that she lost. Helen reminds her of the time she lost her index finger.
