This is a direct remake of the last cinema from the game. This takes place 500 years into the future, and Midgar is completely destroyed and nearly surrounded by water.

2. Who is explaining the flashbacks of the events in "Final Fantasy VII"?

Answer: Marlene

Marlene tells us all about Lifestream, Shin-ra and SOLDIER. She goes on to explain how Lifestream saved the planet from Meteor and Holy.

3. Who is Kadaj looking for?

Answer: Jenova

He asks multiple times where 'Mother' is, meaning 'Jenova'. Sephiroth called Jenova, mother throughout the game. We learn that Rufus had the Turks recover Jenova's head from the Northern Cave.

4. Geostigma, Jenova's Memetic Legacy and the Sephiroth Gene are all the same thing.
