Prince Hans encounters it as he and his guards attempt to go inside the ice palace and look for Anna because Prince Hans has a feeling that Anna is in trouble.

When Anna gets struck by Elsa's power the second time, Kristoff takes her to Grand Pabbie and he tells Kristoff that only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart.

Near the end, it turns out that Prince Hans is the villain because he betrays Anna by refusing to kiss her, leaving her to die. He also charges Elsa with treason and sentences her to death. After that, Hans looks for Elsa and then tells her that her sister died because of her.

After Elsa falls into a deep depression, Hans attempts to cut Elsa's head off. However, Anna saves Elsa's life by stepping in and turning into solid ice and blocks Han's sword as it is about to strike Elsa.
