Answer: Angelina Jolie

Jolie plays the only female hacker role in "Hackers", Kate Libby - Acid Burn. Kate and Dade spend most of the movie in competition with each other, as she is very competitive, but loses to Dade in the end. Angelina Jolie won an Academy Award for her portrayal of mental hospital patient Lisa, in the film "Girl Interrupted".

3. The name of the US Secret Service Agent in charge of catching the hackers is Gill Richards?

Answer: False

When Phreak and Serial Killer take Dade to Nikon's house for the first time, the TV news is showing a report featuring Richard Gill. All four of them proclaim, "Richard Gill - hacker enemy No.1". Richard Gill is an older Agent, close to retiring. He is assigned to the Computer Fraud division to finish off his career.

4. What is the final hack that is done in the competition between Dade and Kate, to hassle the US Secret Service Agent Richard Gill?

The competition causes a lot of trouble for Richard Gill. He has his credit cards cut at a restaurant, is arrested for traffic violations and is inundated with sleazy callers responding to the personal ad. This is one of the best scenes in the movie.

5. What piece of equipment in Dade's room does The Plague smash with a baseball bat, when he is trying to convince Dade to help him?

The Plague knows that Dade is Zero Cool, and one of the best hackers around. He is not impressed when Dade refuses his offer to join forces. There is no clear reason why The Plague wants Dade to join him - he has already planted the virus, it's possible he wants his help to cover his tracks.

6. What does The Plague call the Ellingson security guard who calls him when he finds a hacker in the Gibson?

Answer: Techno weenie

Joey hacks into the Gibson (Ellingson Minerals' main computer, that controls all their mining operations and tankers), and copies what he thinks is a useless garbage file. He is found out by the Ellingson Security guard (listed as Ellingson Guard, Mike Cicchetti, in the movie credits) who doesn't know what to do.

The Plague is called in to help. The Plague then uses Joey as a scapegoat, so he can plant a virus and steal millions of dollars.

Phreak is the first hacker to recognise that Dade is an elite. He is also one the hackers incarcerated and framed for planting the Da Vinci virus in Ellingson Minerals' computer.

Dade impresses Kate by taking her for a swim and showing her this message. Cereal Killer mentions earlier in the movie that if Kate and Dade got together they would be "Crash and Burn" - Crash Override (Dade) and Acid Burn (Kate). It is quite a feat to have the lights turn on in the building simultaneously, to display his message. Kate now realises that he is an elite.

Answer: Pagers

They use their pagers to send a global message - "Hack the Planet". This is very effective, as they are able to get enough response to attack the Gibson and copy the garbage file needed to prove their innocence.

Dade manages to hack into the system that controls the traffic lights, allowing them to get away. The Prodigy song "Voodoo People", is perfect for this scene, as it is fast paced and modern.
