Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which animation company produced the film?

Answer: Vanguard Animation

Vanguard Animation was founded in 2004 by a man named John H. Williams. Other films it has released include "Valiant" and "Space Chimps".
2. Which fairy tale does the story center around?

Answer: Cinderella

The story centers around "Cinderella" as Cinderella (Ella for short) is the main character and the stepmother (called Frieda in this film) is the main villain.
3. Where does the Prince get advice from?

Answer: A handbook

The Prince is so dim-witted, he wouldn't know how to do anything without it. Despite this, he is the object of Ella's affections. His valet, Rick, who secretly loves her, cannot understand why anyone would love someone so unintelligent.
4. What type of animals are the wizard's assistants?

Answer: a pig and a cat

The Wizard's two assistants are a pig and a cat. Their names are Munk and Mambo. Munk, the pig, is all for keeping the scales of good and evil balanced so that the fairy tales all get their happy endings. On the other hand, Mambo, the cat would like to tip the scales just a bit to see what happens.

When the Wizard goes on a much-needed vacation to Scotland, Munk and Mambo get into an enormous fight which eventually attracts Frieda.
5. What colour hair do the stepsisters have?

Answer: purple

The stepsisters, who are unnamed in this film, have purple hair. Frieda feels that she is not going to get anywhere with them because they are so dopey. Freida leaves them at the ball to go and investigate the magic blasts coming from the Wizard's room at the top of the castle.

After we see them crowding the Prince just before Cinderella arrives, they are strangely not seen for the rest of the film.
6. Which villain does Frieda shrink down to mouse size?

Answer: The Giant from "Jack and the Beanstalk"

When Frieda gets to the Wizard's room and sees Mambo and Munk, she takes the Wizard's staff, sends them out the window on a magic carpet and tips the scales to evil so that all the fairy tales have unhappy endings. Then, she recruits the villains from each story to assist her in taking over Fairy Tale Land. Rumpelstiltskin, who has just stolen the baby from the queen in his story, asks Frieda to make him her sidekick in exchange for him telling her that Ella, Munk and Mambo have teamed up to find the Prince so he can save the kingdom. Frieda then tells the villains to go find Ella.

When they groan that they'd rather work at night, Frieda shrinks the Giant. This strikes fear into the villains' hearts, so they all go off to find Ella quickly.
7. What type of creatures capture the Prince?

Answer: trolls

Even though Rick tells Ella that the Prince is idiotic, she refuses to relent in finding him because she is convinced he can save the day. Munk and Mambo also want to find him because the story must end with him saving the day. Although, the Prince tries his hardest, he is easily captured by the trolls guarding the castle gates and taken to the dungeon where he weeps about his failure. Frieda later shows him to Ella after capturing her herself. Ella then realizes that Rick is the right man for her.
8. How is Frieda defeated?

Answer: She is pushed into a portal.

When Munk, Mambo and Rick arrive to rescue Ella, a fierce battle ensues. Some of the floor tiles are removed, revealing a bottomless pit. Frieda is pushed into this pit by Mambo, but later gets out using the staff. She then creates a portal and attempts to push Ella into it.

However, Rick pushes her into it instead, then Ella takes the staff and makes it disappear. The four clean up the place so it will be clean when the Wizard returns. Later, Rick and Ella marry thanks to the Prince who pays for their wedding. Rumpelstiltskin, who has reformed, gives the baby back to his mother and helps her to take care of him. Meanwhile, somewhere in the Arctic, Frieda finds herself on an iceberg surrounded by elephant seals.
9. What is the Prince's real name.

Answer: Humperdink

His real name is Humperdink. Though it is never mentioned in the film, it is seen in the closing credits and is mentioned in an alternate ending which can be found on the DVD.
10. This was George Carlin's final film role before his death. Who did he voice?

Answer: The Wizard

The Wizard keeps an eye on Fairy Tale Land from a room at the top of the Prince's castle. He has a magic crystal ball through which he supervises all the fairy tales that is equipped with the scales of good and evil. The voice actor George Carlin died from heart failure a year after this film's release. May he rest in peace!
