Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which one of these horror flicks had two villains named Billy Loomis and Stuart Macher?

Answer: Scream

'Scream' (1996) was directed by Wes Craven. It starred Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott. Someone was obviously out to get Sydney for some reason, and other people, including her friends, etc, wound up suffering as well. Billy Loomis, who was Sydney's boyfriend, was played by actor Skeet Ulrich.

His partner in crime named Stuart (also known as Stu), was played perfectly by Matthew Lillard. This film also starred Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Rose McGowan, and Drew Barrymore, among others. There was also an uncredited role by Wes Craven himself as a janitor named Fred.

This popular film wound up spawning several sequels.
2. One of these films that starred actress Linda Blair was about four college kids who stayed in a creepy mansion overnight as part of a fraternity pledge. While doing so, they became victims to two killers hidden in the huge manor. Which film was it?

Answer: Hell Night

This 1981 horror film also starred Vincent Van Patten. The surprise came at the end of the film when it was revealed that there were two deformed killers instead of one, which everyone was led to believe. The legend of the manor was that 12 years earlier a man named Raymond Garth had murdered his wife and four children, then killed himself.

The reason was that the children were deformed. But apparently, the police never found the body of their youngest son, Andrew. Legend had it that Andrew saw his family being murdered, and was still hiding out in the huge manor.
3. The 1980 horror/comedy 'Motel Hell' had two killers. One was farmer Vincent Smith. The other was his sister. What was her name?

Answer: Ida

The role of Vincent was played by Rory Calhoun, and his sadistic sister Ida was played by Nancy Parsons. There was something very disturbingly different about Vincent's smoked meats. They were made with the flesh of their human victims. The victims were trapped, buried with only their heads sticking out of the ground, and their vocal cords taken out so they couldn't scream.

Then they were fed and cared for until it was time to kill them. Ida was Vincent's partner in crime when it came to helping with the 'secret ingredients'! She would assist in the trapping and the murdering of the victims. Creepy!
4. Which of these slashers that starred George Kennedy and Chris Lemmon had two deranged twin killers?

Answer: Just Before Dawn

This 1981 film came out around a time when killers in wooded areas were very common in horror films. The difference with this one was that there were actually two. Twin brothers stalked and killed members of a group of friends who had gone to the area to hike and set up camp, although they had been forewarned not to go. This movie was written and directed by Jeff Lieberman.
5. One of these films was about a mother and son who captured young women and scalped them. The reason was so that they could use their hair to make wigs. Which movie was it?

Answer: Gruesome Twosome

This explicit and disturbing 1967 film was directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, who was famously known among horror fans for weird and macabre exploitation horror films. This one had a woman named Mrs. Pringle using the hair of female victims to make wigs for her wig business. Her son was the one in charge of scalping the young ladies that came to stay at the Pringle's boarding house.
6. Thor, a beautiful, large German Shepherd, was the hero in this werewolf film which starred Mariel Hemingway. What was the name of the film?

Answer: Bad Moon

This 1996 film was based on the novel titled 'Thor'. Mariel Hemingway played a lawyer who lived with her young son and their dog, Thor. Michael Pare also starred as Hemingway's brother who came to stay with her, after being attacked by a werewolf-like creature. Even though Pare would try to hide his beastly secret, Thor sensed it, and did what he needed to in order to protect his owners.
7. What was the name of the little white Poodle in the 1981 horror film 'The Boogens'?

Answer: Tiger

'The Boogens' was about scaly, tentacled creatures of unknown origin that dwelled in the underground mines. Two couples were vacationing together in a house that was connected to the mines. This unfortunately allowed the creatures easy access to the victims. Poor Tiger was one of those victims. One of the tentacled critters came up through the floor vent and grabbed Tiger, dragging him right through the vents.
8. Which one of these horror films by horror master, Wes Craven, had two dogs named Beauty and Beast?

Answer: The Hills Have Eyes

'The Hills Have Eyes' (1977), which was directed by Craven, was about a family and their two dogs who wound up stranded in a desert area in Nevada. While there, they were stalked and terrorized by deformed and deranged hillside cannibals. Beauty wound up meeting her demise at the hands of the sadistic cannibal family after wandering up too far into the hills.

This movie spawned a sequel, and both films spawned re-makes.
9. In the 1993 film 'Man's Best Friend', Ally Sheedy adopted a Rottweiler that was being used for experimentation in a lab. What was the dog's name?

Answer: Max

Lance Henriksen also starred in this horror thriller. Max was very loyal to his new owner (played by Sheedy). So loyal in fact, that he became jealous of anyone else who gave her attention. Not to mention he had a very mean temper, and was deadly enough to swallow an adult cat whole! Eww! All this was due to the fact that poor Max was an experiment and should have never been set free.
10. In the 1983 film 'Cujo', what was Cujo bitten by that gave him rabies?

Answer: A bat

This film was from the novel by Stephen King. Poor Cujo became infected with rabies after the bat bit him. This resulted in him going mad and becoming a killer. Donna and her young son Tad wound up trapped inside their car, while the St. Bernard kept attempting to try and get at them. Dee Wallace and Danny Pintauro starred as Donna and Tad Trenton.
