Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Where was the Jade Palace located in the Valley of Peace?

Answer: Atop a high mountain

The Jade Palace was the ultimate Dojo of Kung Fu, hosted by the greatest Kung Fu teacher, Master Shifu. Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis were Shifu's students training with him on the dojo (although they were nothing like a newbie. They were the Furious Five, the five fiercest Kung Fu warriors in China). Po became the trainee inside Jade Palace as a result of Master Oogway's decision.

There was obviously no Jade Cave in the Valley of Peace, and of course, the Palace was nowhere near the main protagonist's house. It's really, really far, in fact. There was a lake, however, named The Lake of Sacred Tears. But it was pretty small, and the Jade Palace was not inside it.
2. Po the Panda: "I was kind of thinking maybe I... could also sell the bean buns." What did he say next?

Answer: "They're about to go bad."

Po said it when he was told to sell noodles at the festival, where the new Dragon Warrior would soon be chosen, earlier in the movie. Po's father's reply to Po was "I was kind of thinking maybe I..." was rather funny, establishing his role as the movie's most expressive character:

"Yeah?"
"Uh-huh?" (Both said with his high-pitched voice)
3. "Hey, careful! That soup is...sharp..." What made Po say this to one of his noodle shop customers in the beginning of the movie?

Answer: He accidentally put a shuriken in the bowl

Po woke up from his dream at the call of his father. Before he went down to the store, Po threw a shuriken (ninja throwing knife) at a target practice in his room (likely as a daily chore), but he missed a couple times. Po ended up carrying his missed shuriken from his room to the store.
4. Of what color was the main gate of Jade Palace?

Answer: Red

The gate of the Jade Palace had a small hole, big enough for Po to peek inside, which was strange considering that a gate like such was made to be sturdy and long-lasting. Not to mention the hole was also located near the handle of the gate, which made it easier to unlock.

Po did peek inside when he visited the Jade Palace during the great festival of Dragon Warrior choosing. Since he came late, he wasn't allowed to come inside the Palace. Po then tried to peek inside being the Kung Fu maniac he was.
5. Which character was shown playing flute in the beginning of the movie?

Answer: Master Shifu

The greatest Kung Fu master, Master Shifu, under the tutelage of Master Oogway, had taught many great warriors for years, including the evil Tai Lung. Shifu looked like a small rat with a long moustache, and wearing a red robe. According to DreamWorks Animation (the film's developer), he was actually a red panda.

Afterwards, the Furious Five attacked him. But the great Master Shifu managed to fend off their attacks, using only his flute.
6. What did "Oogway" mean in Chinese?

Answer: Land turtle

The turtle master's name was a pun. It really meant what old Master Oogway was.

Master Oogway told Shifu about the incoming danger earlier in the movie, in which the evil Tai Lung would soon return to the Valley of Peace for revenge, which led to the Dragon Warrior Choosing Festival

Also the mentor of Master Shifu, Master Oogway was said to be the inventor of Kung Fu itself. There was a drawing of two fishes forming Yin and Yang on Oogway's carapace.
7. What kind of confinement sealed most of the evil Tai Lung movements?

Answer: A stone tortoise shell with some jade sticks attached

Tai Lung was imprisoned in the Chor-Gom prison because of the destruction of the Valley of Peace 20 years ago, and his attempt to take the Dragon Scroll by force, in order to acquire the secrets of the scroll, and to use it for his own gain.

Although not described in the movie, the jade sticks attached to the stone shell were located precisely at Tai Lung's points of Chi (life energy), which meant to keep him from accessing power from it.

The chains which tied his hands to two huge boulders proved to not hold Tai Lung back at all, in fact, he quickly ripped it away as soon as he broke free from the tortoise shell.
8. Using this somewhat vague skill, Po finally put an end to Tai Lung. What was the name of the "uber" skill?

Answer: Wuxi finger hold

It wasn't explained what actually happened when Po bent his pinky - only that a huge, golden-colored shock wave occurred at the same time. Then Tai Lung was out of the picture without further explanation as to what his ultimate fate was.
9. "I'm not hungry," said Po to Master Shifu. What did he throw to Shifu before he said it?

Answer: A dumpling

Master Shifu recognized Po's innate ability for Kung Fu in each of Po's efforts to acquire food and snacks. Later on, Master Shifu used food and snacks to train Po.

At the end of his training, Po amazingly rejected the dumpling he earned, which signalled to Master Shifu that Po had become a full-fledged Kung Fu warrior indeed.
10. Which famous Hong Kong martial artist, actor, and stunt master dubbed Monkey?

Answer: Jackie Chan

Monkey was one of the Furious Five. Jackie Chan is a famous Hong Kong actor, specializing in action movies. He is well known because he tends to do all of the dangerous stunts in his films himself, except for one instance in "The Tuxedo" (2002) where he was forced to use a stunt man for a scene since Jackie was badly injured at the time. The production must go on.
