Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "The Princess Bride", what is the most famous, classic blunder?

Answer: Never get involved in a land war in Asia.

The first classic blunder is based on an anachronistic reference to the Vietnam War. "Only slightly less well known is this: never go in against a Sicillian when death is on the line."
2. In "Better Off Dead", how much money does Lane owe the paperboy?

Answer: Two Dollars.

The paperboy relentlessly pursues poor Lane Myer throughout the film for his two dollars, plus tip. Perhaps he should have asked Lane's father for the money. How many people knew that Lane's father was played by David Ogden Stiers, who went on to become the voice of Jumba in Disney's "Lilo and Stitch"?
3. Which of the following is a movie supervillian in "Superman II"?

Answer: Non

Perhaps he was the least known of the supervillian trio Zod, Ursa and Non. They were sentenced to spend their lives in the Phantom Zone by Jor-El in "Superman". They were freed by a nuclear explosion and wreak havok on Earth in "Superman II".
4. In "Back to the Future II", who wins the World Series in 2015?

Answer: The Chicago Cubs

Marty McFly sees this on the news during his trip to the future. In 1985 the Cubs hadn't been in the World Series in 40 years, nor had they won it in 77 years.
5. Which of the Ghostbusters didn't have at least one doctorate degree?

Answer: Winston Zeddemore

Winston was hired off the street with no experience or training because they were desperate for more help. Peter told Walter Peck, the EPA agent, he had PhDs in psychology and parapsychology.
6. In "Stand By Me", how much change did Vern Tessio contribute for Gordie to get food?

Answer: Seven cents.

Vern couldn't find a jar of pennies that he buried, though he searched for nine months. I don't think his last name is ever spoken in the movie, though it appears in the credits.
7. In "Summer School", what was the name of Mr. Shoop's dog?

Answer: Wondermutt

Mr. Shoop calls his dog by name when he is sitting on the beach after quitting his teaching job. You may recognise the other choices as fellow animal actors. Primo was a German Shepherd from a B horror flick called "Bad Moon". Tank is the bear who played Archie in "Dr. Doolittle 2" and T.J. is the titular horse starring in "Hidalgo".
8. In the Richard Donner great "The Goonies", what is the only food offered at the Fratelli's restaurant?

Answer: Tongue.

It wasn't really their restaurant but their hideout that the boys discovered. Anne Ramsey's quintessential character, Mama Fratelli, offered to cut out Mouth's tongue and feed it to them.
9. In John Hughes' "Sixteen Candles", how much did Farmer Ted say the grill on a Rolls Royce costs?

Answer: $5000

"You got five grand? I ain't got five grand."
Anthony Michael Hall was originally credited as The Geek, though he refers to himself as Farmer Ted several times. This was corrected for the DVD release.
10. In "A Christmas Story", How many shots does Ralphie's air rifle hold?

Answer: 200

It was a "200 shot, carbine action, range model air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time," I have the 50 year anniversary model Red Ryder, which holds 600 shots. It's not really an air rifle either, as it is spring loaded.
