1. (1957) Okay, jury duty. Did the kid do it? Eleven out of twelve say yes, but not all of their opinions are based on the evidence presented. But lone dissenter Henry Fonda - as Juror #8 - convinces them all: the kid DIDN'T do it. Also starring Lee J. Cobb, Ed Begley, E.G. Marshall. Name this classic film.

Answer: 12 Angry Men

This is Sidney Lumet's directorial debut. Most of it is filmed in the cramped quarters of a NYC jury room, and - man!- does the viewer feel the heat, the pent-up emotions, and the frustrations that the actors convey. The names of the twelve jurors are never mentioned. They are referred to only as "Juror #1, Juror #2," etc. The back-and-forth dialog is terse & realistic. A must-see!

2. (1960) Marooned Age of Enlightenment clan gives better than they get from a band of murderous pirates. Can you name this movie?

Answer: Swiss Family Robinson

Filmed on location on the Caribbean West Indies island of Tobago, this Disney classic is a must see for all children. The steps the family must take to survive inspires ingenuity in a young mind. One of the starring performers was James MacArthur, Helen Hayes' son and well known as Danno from the TV series "Hawaii Five-O". [Submitted by mehaul]
3. (1994) A "vignette" movie filmed out-of-sequence: the "diner robbery" with Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer; "the date" with John Travolta and Uma Thurman; "divine intervention" with Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson; "creepy time" with the gimp, the rednecks, Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames; and finally, a "spiritual quest" by Jackson. What film is this?

Answer: Pulp Fiction

Directed by Quentin Tarantino, who also stars in the film as "Jimmy of Toluca Lake," (where Tarantino attended acting school), "Pulp Fiction" is a movie with many plots, witty dialog, and engaging characters. Although bloody in parts (somewhat expected in a Tarantino film), it remains, in an odd way, an up-beat film.

Although all the acting in this movie is excellent, catch Christopher Walken in his cameo: a tour de force! [Submitted by snediger]
4. (1993) February 2, 1993 "Extra, Extra! Read all about it! Weatherman Phil Connors relives same day over, and over, and over again!" Can you name this ground-breaking film?

Answer: Groundhog Day

"Groundhog Day" was a 1993 film starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Murray stars as Phil Connors, a weatherman who has to travel to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover Groundhog Day. After a blizzard snows them in for an extra day, Connors begins reliving February 2 over and over again. [Submitted by skyrunner84]
5. (1956) Rich Prince of Egypt throws in with his real peeps, the Israelites, because God tells him to. Rods turn into snakes, water turns into blood, and you see more frogs than you can shake a stick at. Despite these madcap escapades, Pharaoh remains unimpressed. Pharaoh and his boys then sleep with the fishes. Name this blockbuster film.

Answer: The Ten Commandments

"The Ten Commandments" won an Academy Award for special effects, and I can see why. Despite lacking modern computer enhancement, the "parting of the Red Sea" and "God's finger writing the Ten Commandments" are pretty impressive! Charlton Heston lends a special gravity to the Moses role, and is backed up by Yul Brynner (equally believable as Pharaoh), Cedric Hardwicke, Anne Baxter, Debra Paget, John Carradine, Vincent Price, and the literal "cast of thousands." 6. (1980) Golf, Gophers, and Gross-outs. This comedy starred Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Ted Knight. Do you know the title of this movie?

Answer: Caddyshack

Directed by Harold Ramis, who co-wrote the script with Doug Kenney and Brian Doyle-Murray (Bill Murray's brother), this $6 million dollar film grossed almost $40 million in North America and became a cult favorite. The American Film Institute included it in their top 100 funniest all-time American films.[Submitted by seamonster]
7. (1991) Hannibal Lecter, Clarice Starling, Buffalo Bill, cannibalism and mass murders. What more could you want from an Academy Award Best Picture? Which film was it?

Answer: The Silence of the Lambs

One of only three films to win the top five Academy Awards, this film established Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter as the top movie villain of all time, according to the American Film Institute. [Submitted by seamonster]
8. (2004) 20 of the best college players from around the nation, some bitter rivals, come together to make history on a world stage. U-S-A! Without slashing, spearing or icing the puck, can you name this amazing film?

Answer: Miracle

"Miracle" began filming in 2002, and was released in 2004. Herb Brooks (in the film portrayed by actor Kurt Russell) died before the film was released. This film, about the 1980 United States Olympic Hockey win over the Soviet Union, is dedicated to him. [Submitted by skyrunner84]
9. (1995) Not quite having a handle on reality, we learn that one of the protagonist's friends is a closet Batman. Which movie brings the "Truth or Date" game show to the region's shopping mecca?

Answer: Mallrats

This is Jason Lee's first big starring role, even though it's a Kevin Smith directed farce. If you have any surgery stitches, heed the non-published (just my) warning to avoid this film, otherwise, don't miss it. You'll drop jaw when Smith is sliding across a wire as Silent Bob and buddy Jay (Jason Mewes) screams "Fly fat boy, fly". [Submitted by mehaul]
10. (1946) This film has become a Christmas Classic, starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. It's a story about what the world would have been like, if the main character (who always thought he was insignificant) had never been born. What is the name of this movie we see every year?

Answer: It's A Wonderful Life

Directed by Frank Capra, it's a story about the seemingly little things that change lives. Jimmy Stewart said it's his favorite movie of all time. With Jimmy Stewart as the second choice to play banker George Bailey, (Cary Grant was first choice) and Donna Reed (also second choice to Jean Arthur) playing his wife Mary, the film was an initial disappointment at the box office. Still it was nominated for five Oscars, but it lost in three major categories (Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director) to "The Best Years of Our Lives".

But it seems like every year, we sit and watch "It's A Wonderful Life" with our friends and family and it never gets old; it's always teaching someone something about life and how wonderful it is! [Submitted by terraorca]
