Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Screws just fall out all the time; the world's an imperfect place."

Answer: The Breakfast Club

John Bender tells Principal Vernon this when the library door won't stay open. Bender actually took the screws out so that they wouldn't be so closely watched. Vernon wants to keep his eyes on the kids and make sure they don't talk or move during the 8 hours (can we say control freak?) and Bender wants to be able to move around the library and talk to the other kids (can we say rebel?). "The Breakfast Club" is about five high school students, all from different backgrounds, who are sentenced to a Saturday detention.

In the end they discover what they thought of as differences really are commonalities.
2. "You can never have too much firepower."

Answer: Beverly Hills Cop II

Billy Rosewood take two shotguns and an overcoat out of his trunk and tells Taggart this. Rosewood has a huge facination with guns in this installment. Throughout the movie we see guns everywhere around Rosewood...under his bed, behind his bedroom door, in the cushions of his couch, even in the fish tank.

In "Beverly Hils Cop II", Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills to help Taggart and Rosewood solve the Alphabet Murders and the shooting of his friend.
3. "I love my dead, gay son."

Answer: Heathers

Kurt's dad says this during the eulogy for Kurt, after he and Ram were found, both dead, in a compromising position. JD and Veronica not only killed Kurt and Ram but staged the compromising position to make it appear that they were gay and killed themselves for fear that they wouldn't be accepted.

In "Heathers" a girl (Veronica) tries to be part of the popular girls (The Heathers) and meets a bad-boy (JD) who shows her the darker side of social politics.
4. "Hats for bats."

Answer: Major League

Serrano tells Roger Dorn this after he steals one of Dorn's golf club covers and places it on his bat. "Major League" is about the new owner of the Cleveland Indians who puts together a team of horrible washed-up and rookie players so they'll lose and she can move the team to sunny Florida. However, after finding out her plan, the team starts winning.
5. "We are the United States Government. We don't do that sort of thing."

Answer: Sneakers

NSA Bernard Abbott says this after Whistler claims he wants peace on Earth and good will toward men as his reward for the decryption chip. "Sneakers" is a comedic thriller about computers and cryptography, government and espionage, and friendship and betrayal.
6. "Mickey is a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog. What's Goofy?"

Answer: Stand by Me

Gordie Lachance and his buddies travel to the spot where a boy about their age was killed in a train wreck. Along the way they stop for the night, light a fire and discuss their meanings of life. This is one of River Phoenix's best films of all time!
7. "Don't drive angry. Do not drive angry."

Answer: Groundhog Day

Phil says this to the groundhog who he's holding behind the wheel of the truck he's driving. In "Groundhog Day" a weatherman travels to the home of the Groundhog (Puxatawney Phil), in Puxatawney, Pennsylvania. Here he finds himself living the same day over and over again.
8. "But I have nothing to give you. My hands are empty."

Answer: Little Women

Friedrich says this to Jo when he comes to her house at the end of the movie. It is implied that he has come to ask for her hand in marriage. The March sisters live and grow in post-Civil War America in this adaptation of a Louisa May Alcott novel.
9. "I had to come to prison to be a crook."

Answer: The Shawshank Redemption

Andy says this about doing the crooked books for the Warden. He was an honest man outside of prison. In "The Shawshank Redemption" the life of shy, quiet accountant, Andy Dufresne, changes when he is falsely convicted and jailed for the murder of his wife and her lover.
10. "No, no, no, no. I'm a busy girl. I've got exactly four days to break up a wedding, steal the bride's fella and I haven't one clue how to do it."

Answer: My Best Friend's Wedding

Julianne says this to George when he suggests that they go get a drink and she take a later flight. In "My Best Friend's Wedding" Julianne finds out that her best friend is engaged to be married, and realizes that she loves him herself. She sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding.
