Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Once upon a time, there was this beautiful Princess named Princess Buttercup. She was supposed to marry this very mean Prince. But she didn't want to marry him, she wanted to marry her one true love. What story is this?

Answer: The Princess Bride

What a delightful story this was too. Princess Buttercup did meet up with her one true love and they lived happily ever after. Was that a good story? Peter Falk thought it was a good story, that's why he read it to his grandson, Fred Savage.
2. I can see you're yawning just a little bit now. I'll make this one a fun story. Once upon a time, there were four very good girl friends. They loved to do all different sorts of things together. They even went to the cemetery. What movie is this where Samantha reminisces?

Answer: Now and Then

This is such a good bedtime movie. You just curl up in your blankets and watch this cute 'chick flick'. Men are allowed too, but I'll bet that they would say they don't want to watch a chick flick. Roberta is definately not a chick, that's for sure! She was the tom-boy of the group!
3. Think back, a long time ago, oh maybe back to 1912. Yes, you could smell the fresh paint. Everyone was excited to take the first voyage on this ship. Tell us some more Rose, please? We want to hear the entire story. What movie are you telling this story in Rose?

Answer: Titanic

Rose tells the crew the story of how she met Jack and how he saved her, 'in every way possible'. Rose even went on to share her deepest emotions that she had felt with Jack. All eyes were on Rose as she shared these adventures. Oh Rose, don't stop, don't let go... go on, please go on.
4. Let's talk about a woman who wrote her very own book, shall we? Once upon a time, there was this beautiful girl named Beverly. Beverly was a happy child, until she had a child of her own at the young age of 15. Beverly grew up very quickly, but her husband, Raymond, had a little bit of a drug problem. One day, Beverly took her son, Jason, and left Raymond. Raymond was very sad, but Beverly had to do what was right for her son. What movie is this?

Answer: Riding in Cars with Boys

Beverly learned a very valuable lesson in her lifetime. But she also wrote this book, so maybe she could help someone else too. Beverly was played by Drew Barrymore in this true story.
5. Once upon a time, there was a sweet boy named Simon Birch. He was so small and his family didn't love him the way they should have. I was his best friend in the whole word. When I stood by his gravesite, I reminisced about our days growing up together. Who played the character of Joe Wenteworth, as an adult?

Answer: Jim Carrey

This is one of my favorite stories of all time. Simon never really grew up in height, only in his mind. But his best friend, Joe, stuck with him. The boys had so much fun swimming and just being boys. But one sad day, Simon was taken away. Joe really missed his friend after he died, but he never forgot him.
6. Once upon a time, there were three bachelors. They had it made - they were Casanovas. That was until little Mary was dropped off on their doorstep. What great movie was this with Tom Selleck singing a song to the baby?

Answer: Three Men and a Baby

Jack didn't know that he had a child. But the three bachelors put their heads together and became awesome dads in a short amount of time. Listening to them singing "Good Night Sweetheart..." was so cute. The trio, Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg was perfectly casted. The second movie, "3 Men and a Little Lady" was a hit also. Both were very good comedies.
7. Once upon a time, there was a lady, her name was Isabel. Isabel was supposed to marry Luke. But Luke had two children, named Anna and Ben. Isabel read a bedtime story to Ben one night. Ben put a potion in her drink and she fell asleep during the story. Ben was very happy that he "killed" her. What delightful movie was this?

Answer: Stepmom

I felt so bad for Isabel in "Stepmom". She really just wanted to be a good mother to the children. She tried so hard at times, just to be slapped down by one of the children or the real mother, Jackie. Both Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon had powerful roles in this movie, each one deserving of a nomination for the Blockbuster Entertainment Award.
8. Let's tell a really sweet story now. Once upon a time, there was this very quiet man who loved chocolate. He loved chocolate so much, that he had a river of chocolate in his factory. He invited some children to come and visit the inside of this factory, as long as they had a golden ticket. What story is this?

Answer: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Willy Wonka tells Charlie a story at the end of this movie, when they are flying in the Wonka elevator. Charlie was such a good, sweet boy. He really deserved all the nice things that happened to him in this movie.
9. Once upon a time, there was a beautiful woman. She sang such a beautiful story. "I kept my promise." "Don't keep your distance..." "Don't cry for me Argentina." What musical movie are these words sung in?

Answer: Evita

Over 30 songs were performed in the movie "Evita". Everyone was crushed that Madonna was not nominated for an Oscar for her performance. Would she still sing the song at the Oscars? Yes, she was a lady, she sang the song that won the Oscar, "You Must Love Me". This was the only Oscar that the movie picked up that night. Madonna did pick up a Golden Globe for her role as Evita.
10. Once upon a time, Jim Henson wrote and directed a story about a young girl who was babysitting her baby brother. Sarah did not want to babysit, so "she called the goblins for help..." What fantasy movie is this?

Answer: Labyrinth

Sarah had 13 hours to save her baby brother from the rotten Jareth. Sarah meets many characters along the way, including Hoggle, The Worm, and Red and Blue Guards. Can Sarah save her brother? Can Sarah say "You have no power over me?"

David Bowie not only plays the role of Jareth, but he wrote and sang quite a few of the songs in this movie also. I wish David would act more, I really enjoyed him in this movie.

Okay, now you can go to sleep. You've had ten little bedtime stories. Don't forget to say your prayers, and as mom always said, "don't let the bed bugs bite." Why did she say that?
