John Wayne was cast as Seattle Police Detective Lieutenant Lon McQ in the 1974 film. His boss was played by Eddie Albert. The film centered around the murder of McQ's partner and an unfolding narcotics investigation. David Huddleston was cast as McQ's private detective associate and Diana Muldaur was his love interest in the film. John Wayne would star in only three more movies before he passed in 1979.
"Badlands" was a film based on the Starkweather-Fugate murders that took place in the fifties in the Dakotas.

The original "Airport" was released in 1970. The movie was based on a 1968 book and centered around an airport manager's problems with a snowstorm and a suicide bomber on a plane. Burt Lancaster played the airport manager.
Four years later "Airport 1975" was released. The film focused on a mid-air collision and the efforts of the surviving crew to bring the plane to a safe landing. Charlton Heston and Karen Black headed the cast.
Jack Lemmon, Joseph Cotton and Brenda Vaccaro were among the cast of "Airport 77". The film featured a Boeing 747 that sank.
The final film of the series was "The Concorde: Airport '79" which starred Robert Wagner and Susan Blakely. In the film the Concorde crashed into the Alps. "The Concorde: Airport '79" was the final film in the series, making a total of four.
The only "Halloween" film released in the seventies was the 1978 original "Halloween". The 1971 film "Shaft" had only two sequels in the seventies, "Shaft's Big Score" (1972) and "Shaft in Africa" (1973). "Rocky" was released in 1976 and the only sequel done in the seventies was "Rocky II" in 1979. The rest were produced in the eighties.

"Blackula" was released in 1972. It featured a scenario where decorators purchased the coffin of one of Dracula's victims.

"Carrie" was a 1976 movie starring Sissy Spacek in the lead role of a horror film based on a Steven King novel.
The 1970 film "Joe" starred Dennis Patrick as a man who killed his daughter's junkie boyfriend. Afterward he met a man named Joe Curran who hated hippies, played by Peter Boyle and they struck up a friendship. Susan Sarandon made her big screen debut in the film.
"Bobby" was a 1973 movie about a love affair between people of two classes that was made and set in India.
