4. What 60's SciFi movie ended with Charlton Heston finding Lady Liberty?

Answer: Planet of the Apes

An astronaut crew leaves earth in the a Twentieth Century and is in hibernation until they crash land on a planet in 3978A.D. There, intelligent apes are running the planet and humans are used for experimentation studies and for sport. One of the astronauts, Commander Taylor (Charlton Heston), is put on trial.

After the trial, with help from his ape friends, he escapes. After the escape he will search and find his destiny. To film the ending of 1968's "The Planet of the Apes", a 70-foot scaffolding was erected on California's Zuma beach.

It was constructed so the cameraman could shoot Taylor (Charlton Heston) and Nova (Linda Harrison) on the beach, from behind a half-scale model of The Statue of Liberty.
5. In "The Godfather Part 2" which Corleone, migrating to America, sees Lady Liberty?

Answer: Vito

"The Godfather Part 2" has two stories. The early life of Vito Corleone, and that of Michael Corleone, his son, who is expanding his grip on his crime syndicate in the 1950s. As an immigrant, Vito Corleone (who becomes the Godfather) comes past the Statue of Liberty into Ellis Island.

His name at that time is Vito Andolini. Being a boy who doesn't speak, they choose his name from the town that he came from in Italy.
6. In what Ron Howard directed movie do we see Lady Liberty?

Answer: Splash

"Splash" is the love story between a man and a mermaid, that began when they were children, when she saved his life. Lady Liberty is seen in Ron Howard's 1984 "Splash", as mermaid Madison (Daryl Hannah) comes to dry land on Liberty Island.
7. In what Bill Murray movie does Lady Liberty come to save the day?

Answer: Ghostbusters 2

The Ghostbusters come out of retirement to help New York stop the supernatural doom it's heading for. The Ghostbusters bring the Statue of Liberty to life to do battle over evil spirits to save the day. The special effects crew made Lady Liberty seem to come to life and walk through the streets of Manhattan by putting someone dressed in a Statue of Liberty costume in front of a blue screen.
8. In what Steven Spielberg directed movie do we only see the hand and torch of Lady Liberty?

Answer: A.I.

David, an advanced 11 yr old robotic boy, replaces the child a mother and father thought they lost. He is discarded when their child regains his health. David then goes on a trek to regain the love of his human mother, so that he can feel like he's a "real" boy.

In "A.I.", Lady Liberty's hand and torch are only seen because it's the future and global warming has melted the polarized ice caps, raising the oceans and leaving Manhattan and Liberty Island under water. Lady Liberty's hand and torch were computer generated.
9. In what James Cameron directed film do we see Lady Liberty?

Answer: Titanic

The film tells the romantic tale of rich girl and poor boy who fall in love on the maiden voyage of the "unsinkable" ship, the Titanic. A mistake was made in Titanic, when Rose (Kate Winslet) sees Lady Liberty at the end of "Titanic" she sees her as she is today, green.

When France gave us Miss Liberty in 1886 she was brown and it would take at least 35 years for her to turn green. Being that "Titanic" takes place in 1912, she would have still been partially brown.

Answer: Ken Burns

This documentary, 1985's "The Statue of Liberty", gives her history from beginning until up to the twentieth century. Some other films Miss Liberty has been in are, "On the Town", "Escape Fom New York", "X-Men" and "The Day After Tomorrow".
