Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As the movie opens, the screen is filled with a pair of eyes. The camera pulls back and we eventually see the owner of the eyes, while he's giving a reassuring speech. Whose eyes are they?

Answer: Rufus Scrimgeour's

The movie opens with Rufus Scrimgeour, Minister of Magic, giving a speech to the wizarding world. He acknowledges that the times are dark, but assures the people that the Ministry is still strong.
Scrimgeour is played by Bill Nighy, however briefly.
2. Who or what is hovering over the table while the Death Eaters meet at the Malfoy's mansion?

Answer: Charity Burbage

Voldemort informs the group that Burbage is a former professor at Hogwarts and that her area of expertise is Muggle Studies. Voldemort speaks with disdain of Burbage's previously expressed belief that the intermingling of muggles and wizards is a good thing and that they should even mate. For this crime Voldemort kills her and then invites his snake, Nagini, to dine on her body.
Voldemort is played by Ralph Fiennes and Burbage is played by Carolyn Pickles.
3. Who tells Voldemort when Harry is being moved from the Dursleys'?

Answer: Severus Snape

Joining the Death Eaters already seated around the table, Snape tells Voldemort the real date that Harry is being moved from the Dursleys. When this disagrees with the date another Death Eater mentions, Snape insists that his date is the correct one and the other is simply misinformation spread by Harry's friends. Unfortunately Snape is correct and the members of the Order, who are trying to move Harry, are immediately under attack.
What isn't addressed in the movie (but is discussed in the book) is that the reason that Harry must be moved is because he is approaching his 17th birthday. At that time the protections that Dumbledore established to keep Harry safe while he stays at Privet Dr. will cease to exist.

Snape is soon to be made headmaster at Hogwarts, taking the place of Dumbledore, whom Snape killed in the last movie.
Severus Snape is played to malevolent perfection by Alan Rickman.
4. Why must Voldemort use someone else's wand to kill Harry?

Answer: His wand and Harry's wand share a magical core.

When planning the attack on Harry, Voldemort tells the Death Eaters that he will need to use someone else's wand for the attack. He explains that because his wand and Harry's wand share a core (each contains a feather from the same Phoenix, Fawkes) they are able to "wound but not fatally harm" each other. Since he is very much interested in killing Harry, he must use someone else's wand to do so. He chooses Lucius Malfoy's wand because of a desire to humiliate Malfoy.
The ploy is unsuccessful and Malfoy's wand is destroyed in the attempt.
Lucius Malfoy is played by Jason Isaacs.
5. Why doesn't Harry simply disapparate from Privet Drive?

Answer: He is not yet 17 so still has the Ministry trace on him.

Until they reach their age of majority, at 17, every witch and wizard has a trace put on them by the Ministry. Every bit of magic they do can be tracked, so Harry's whereabouts would be known, if he got there by apparating. There are too many Death Eaters in the Ministry, for Harry to be kept safe this way. Mad Eye speaks of the trace and says that that is why they are moving Harry in a way the Ministry cannot trace.
Harry is played by Daniel Radcliffe.
6. The plan involves six people taking Polyjuice potion to look like Harry. Then each one of these Harrys flies away from Privet Drive, accompanied by a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Which of the following people did not take Polyjuice potion to look like Harry?

Answer: Bill Weasley

While Bill Weasley in indeed there, he remains as himself and accompanies his fiancee, Fleur Delacour, who has taken the Polyjuice potion. There is one very funny moment where Fleur, looking like Harry, is changing out of her bra and telling Bill not to look at her because she is hideous. They fly away together on a thestral.
The six fake Harrys are Fleur, Fred and George Weasley, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and a very reluctant Mundungus Fletcher.
Bill Weasley is played by Domhnall Gleeson, who is Brendan Gleeson's (Mad Eye Moody) son.
Fleur is played by Clemence Poesy, Fred and George by James and Oliver Phelps, Ron by Rupert Grint, Hermione by Emma Watson and Mundungus by Andy Linden.
7. How is the real Harry flown away from Privet Drive?

Answer: on a flying motorcycle

Harry finds himself sitting in the sidecar of the giant flying motorcycle, being driven by Hagrid. Since Hagrid first brought Harry to Privet Drive when his parents were murdered and he was just a baby (and on the same motorcycle), it seems a fitting way for him to be taken away from Privet Drive for the last time. Although not mentioned in this movie, the motorcycle once belonged to Sirius Black, Harry's godfather.
Hagrid is played by Robbie Coltrane.
8. What are Ginny and Harry doing when George interrupts them, on the morning of Bill and Fleur's wedding?

Answer: kissing

Ginny comes down, dressed for the wedding, and asks Harry to zip up her dress. She says that it seems a bit strange having a wedding when their world is falling apart and Harry comments that that might be the best reason for having one. They begin to kiss and George, sporting a bandage around his injured ear, slips by them, leans against the sink and then clears his throat, interrupting them.
Ginny is played by Bonnie Wright.
9. Who figures out who RAB is? (Remember, the initials RAB were written on the bottom of the note to Voldemort, at the end of "Half Blood Prince". This note was found in the locket which had been substituted for the horcrux.)

Answer: Ron

After the wedding is attacked by Death Eaters, Harry, Ron and Hermione disapparate to a street in London. When even a coffee shop proves to not be safe (they are attacked by a couple of Death Eaters), they decide to hide at Harry's house at 12 Grimmauld Place (inherited from Sirius), the old headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix.

While exploring the house (which has been ransacked) Ron spots the name of Sirius' brother, Regulus Arcturus Black, on one of the bedroom doors. Suspecting that this might indeed be the mysterious RAB, they question Kreacher the house elf, who tells them that the locket had indeed been there, but had been stolen by Mundungus Fletcher. Kreacher is voiced by Simon Burney and Dobby is voiced by Toby Jones.
10. On Harry's command, Kreacher brings Mundungus back to Grimmauld Place, with the help of Dobby. Mundungus admits to having had the locket, but says it was taken away from him. Who is in possession of the locket?

Answer: Dolores Umbridge

In "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" Umbridge was the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic, whom Fudge planted at Hogwarts to try to spy on and control Dumbledore. She became High Inquisitor and acting Head Mistress when Dumbledore was falsely accused of raising an army against Fudge.
In "Deathly Hallows" she runs the Muggle Born Registration Commission, a position most suited to her nasty disposition. She found Mundungus hawking his wares without a license and, in punishment, took the locket because she liked it.
Umbridge is played by Imelda Staunton.
