Yul Brynner was born as Yuli Borisovich Bryner in 1920 in Russia. His first movie role was in "Port of New York" (1949). In 1957 he won an Oscar for his role in the movie "The King and I" (1956) where he played King Mongkut of Siam. Some of his other films include "The Magnificent Seven" (1960), "Taras Bulba" (1962) and "The Battle on the River Neretva" (1969).
