Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Uh almost. There are a few provisos, a couple of quid pro quo." Regarding granting wishes, which of the following can the genie do?

Answer: Make someone royalty

When telling Aladdin the provisos, he imitates William F. Buckley and gives him the three limitations. The first one the Genie mentions is that he can't kill anybody. Also, he says that he can't make people fall in love. Also, the Genie says it's not a pretty picture bringing someone back from the dead, and that he won't do it. Aladdin then uses his wit and convinces the Genie to get them out of the cave they're stuck in, without "wishing it". Genie realizes that after the fact and tells Aladdin that he has "no more freebies."
2. "They're after me! They're after you?" Which two characters say this line at the same time?

Answer: Aladdin and Jasmine

Princess Jasmine escapes from the palace and goes to the market, cloaked to conceal who she really is. She accidentally steals from a vendor, and he goes to attack her because she can't pay him. Aladdin sees her and intervenes, saying she is his sister and that she is crazy. Aladdin asks if she trusts him, and she says yes.

He then takes her to his hiding place, where Jasmine, Aladdin and Abu watch the night sky. The palace guards then find them both, looking for Aladdin, a well-known thief. The two then make this exchange. Jasmine sees that they are arresting Aladdin, and then reveals who she is and orders his release.

However, the guards take him, as they answer to Jafar, the royal vizier. Aladdin is awestruck that it was the princess that he just spent the day with.
3. "Princess Jasmine you're very..." As Aladdin is stumbling trying to compliment the princess, Genie whispers him the following suggestions. Which one does Aladdin use?

Answer: Punctual

Aladdin arrives at Jasmine's balcony via the magic carpet. He calls out to her, because he wants to court the princess. He struggles for the words to compliment her, but seeing that he is running out of time, he goes with the Genie's last suggestion of "punctual". Jasmine is confused, but Aladdin corrects himself and says that she is beautiful.

She then has his attention as they continue to have a conversation.
4. "Do you trust me?" What subject are they talking about when Aladdin asks Jasmine this?

Answer: The magic carpet

While on the balcony, Jasmine is enthralled with the magic carpet. He asks if she wants to go for a ride, and she asks if it is safe. He then tells her it is, lends his hand, and asks this. After asking, she realizes Aladdin is the boy Jasmine met in the market and again, her answer is yes.

They fly around many famous monuments and spend the time together in the sky. Aladdin later drops Jasmine off where he picked her up, leaving very satisfied. But that satisfaction is short-lived...
5. "I just had the most wonderful time." Who does Jasmine tell this to after her ride with Aladdin?

Answer: The Sultan

Jasmine tells her father, the Sultan, this just after she returns home from her ride with Aladdin. She hopes that this will satisfy her father, because he has been looking for someone to marry her but he can't find someone who pleases her.
6. "I think it's time we say goodbye to Prince Abubu." Aladdin's fake name as prince (Ali Ababwa) is mocked by this character. Which character wants to "say goodbye" to Aladdin?

Answer: Jafar

Seeing as Jasmine would be Queen and have the power to fire Jafar if she were to marry Aladdin, Jafar is trying to make it so Aladdin is out of the picture altogether and make sure he will become Sultan. Jafar is trying to ensure that Aladdin does not become Sultan.
7. "I have chosen a husband for you." The Sultan tells Jasmine this after she has told him about her wonderful ride with Aladdin. Who has the Sultan "chosen" as Jasmine's husband to be?

Answer: Jafar

Under Jafar's spell, the Sultan chooses Jafar as her husband. Jafar wants to be Sultan, and thinks this is his best way to achieve that. Aladdin shows up and smashes Jafar's walking stick, which he uses to put people under his spell. The Sultan promptly awakens from the spell, and calls for guards to arrest Jafar. However, Jafar is able to escape.
8. "So move...that's a good move." Who dryly says this while playing a game of chess?

Answer: Genie

The Genie is playing the magic carpet in a game of chess, waiting on Aladdin to return. Genie gets impatient, and tells carpet to make his move. After doing so, Genie is surprised, and does a Rodney Dangerfield interpretation and says "I can't believe it! I'm losing to a rug." However, this game of chess is short-lived.
9. "C'mon Genie, you can't cheat on this one!" What wish is it that Genie is trying not to "cheat on"?

Answer: Saving Aladdin's life

Aladdin is captured near the palace and gets thrown off a cliff by Jafar and the guards. He is tied to a heavy weight, and is unable to move. Genie is taking a bath when Aladdin accidentally rubs the lamp. Genie tries to wake Aladdin up to wish for it. Aladdin makes a slight nod, and Genie loosely interprets that as a "yes", transforms into a submarine, and saves Aladdin's life.
10. "How many times do I have to kill you boy?!" Talking to Aladdin about his attempts to kill him in the past, which is NOT one of the ways Jafar has tried to kill Aladdin thus far?

Answer: Kill him from a snake bite

After first meeting Jafar, they travel to the Cave of Wonders and Jafar tries to stab Aladdin, unsuccessfully. When seeing him later as "Prince Ababwa", he and the guards throw him overboard to drown him, also unsuccessfully. After finding the Genie, Jafar asks to be the most powerful sorcerer, and as such, takes Aladdin and throws him way away into a place that is ice cold, but Aladdin is rescued by the magic carpet.

It is THEN that the sorcerer Jafar turns himself into a snake and tries to bite and trap Aladdin in his coil.

However, Aladdin convinces Jafar into becoming an "all-powerful genie", and has him locked up in his lamp. Genie then launches Jafar's lamp as far away as possible. Then Aladdin asks for his third wish, and that wish is to free the Genie.
