Random Quotes #2 Trivia Quiz

Most people think that being random is annoying, but not with this quiz. I've picked quotes from most genres. All of the movies in my quiz are pretty modern, most no earlier than 1990.

quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Who's there?' 'Never say who's there! Don't you watch scary movies? It's a death wish! You might as well go off to investigate a strange noise or something!'

Answer: Scream

A psychopathic serial killer is stalking a teenage girl named Sidney, exactly like it happens in the movies! The stalker has already killed one of Sidney's classmates. A reporter, Gale Weathers, is determined to uncover the stalker, and believes that is the same person who raped and murdered Sidney's mother, one year earlier.

The killer says this line while on the phone to his first victim, Casey.
2. 'We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, and reverse it.'

Answer: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

A boy finds a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, inside a Willy Wonka chocolate bar. Charlie takes his enthusiastic grandpa on the tour, and they meet the eccentric Willy Wonka, who hurries them through the tour, because, as in the line he recites, there is so little time and so much to do. One by one, the other children on the tour are forced to depart, until there is only Charlie and his grandpa left.
3. 'Why do I fall in love with every woman I see that shows me the least bit of attention?'

Answer: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Joel is stunned to discover that his girlfriend, Clementine, has undergone an experimental procedure to have her memories erased of their relationship. Frustrated by the idea of being in love with a woman who doesn't remember him, he contacts the inventor of the process, and agrees to undergo the procedure as well.

But as he follows his memories of Clementine backwards in his mind, and recounts the scene in which he tells her the above endearment, he begins to rediscover their earlier passion, and realizes he doesn't want to forget Clementine.
4. 'I was at the day spa. Day, D-A-I-Y-E. Okay?'

Answer: Zoolander

Derek Zoolander is the best male model that ever lived, but a rookie, Hansel, stole the 'Best Male Model of the Year' award. Humiliated, he returns to his roots and ponders who he is. After a day of pondering, he goes back to do one last fashion show. Fashion icon/agent Mugatu brainwashes him to kill the Maylasian Prime Minister while he is at a day spa.

He wakes up the next morning, but finds out from journalist Matilda that he has been missing for the past week. Derek doesn't believe her, arguing that it is a day spa, d-a-i-y-e.
5. 'I've been here 3 years, 8 months and 18 days, but who's counting?'

Answer: Dude, Where's My Car?

Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott are Jesse and Chester, who have partied so hard that they have forgotten where they parked their car. They go in search of the missing vehicle, follow flimsy clues, and discover what wild things they did on that night.

At one time they are locked in a cage by an eccentic ostrich owner, who thought they where poaching his ostriches. There is a deranged man in the cell beside them, who has been in his cell for exactly 3 years, 8 months and 18 days, as seen in the quote above.
6. 'I want to do something for humanity.' 'How about sterilisation?'

Answer: Clueless

Cher Horowitz has got a C+. It's the teacher's fault; he doesn't give out the deserved marks because he's not happy. Cher and her best friend Dee decide to play matchmaker. With slight goading, they get a match with the unfair teacher and the English teacher. Cher's C+ gets raised to a passable A-. Impressed with their good deed, they turn their sights to the rest of the school.

As Cher tells her older stepbrother, she wants to do something for humanity, to which he gives a sarcastic reply. Their gaze lands on Tai, a transfer student. Alas, they are too good at their job. Tai has taken their glory! Laughs a second with this film, I love it.
7. 'Travelling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops, boy. Without precise calculations we'd fly right through a star, or bounce too close to a supernova, and that would end your trip real quick, wouldn't it.'

Answer: Star Wars

This was the beginning of George Lucas's saga about the all-powerful 'Force'. It was the beginning that started in the middle. Peculiar decision, I must say. I still don't get how a cute and innocent boy like Anakin Skywalker (in "Episode 1") turns into this being that practically embodies evil.
In this scene, Han Solo is explaining that it is not totally safe to travel at hyperspeed, and is better to be careful and reach your destination later than die, and not reach your destination at all.
8. 'I don't think you are paranoid. I think you go around with the insane delusion people like you.'

Answer: Deconstructing Harry

Harry is a pill-popping writer with a monumental case of writer's block. He is about to receive an award for his past books, particularly his bestseller on his own life. This is the book that doesn't flatteringly describe his friends, his three ex-wives and his son who he has almost nothing to do with.

He insults everybody, including his brother-in-law, to whom he said this quote. Not surprisingingly, Harry has no friends.
9. 'It's a 37-hour day. Give it a few months, you'll get used to it, or you'll have a psychotic episode.'

Answer: Men in Black

All the incorrect options also star Will Smith. 'Men in Black' is about a NYPD cop, James Edwards, who gets selected to work for a remote Government branch that tags aliens the way other countries do refugees. James becomes Agent Jay, and he works with veteran MIB, Agent Kay. Kay teaches Jay how to become a MIB, and all the little quirks of alien hunting, like what will happen if you don't get used to the hours of the job.
10. 'T-t-t-today, junior.'

Answer: Billy Madison

Billy Madison is a grown man who has to go through school once again to prove that he is the right person to inherit a multi-billion dollar company. Billy is really mean to all the children who are younger than him, including a child who stutters. While the poor kid is trying to get the words out, Billy is teasing him. I'm not a big fan; the only Sandler film that I've seen and liked is '50 First Dates'.
