She becomes a prostitute to make money to send her son to medical school, and assure him of a good future. Years later, she visits him at his office, but doesn't want to tell him who she is. That's when it's time to pull out the hankies.

But he wasn't killed, and they find each other again. Although Roy assures her that he can forgive anything she had to do, Myra is so ashamed of what Roy's wealthy family will think of her, that she takes her own life. Pass another hanky, please.

The next morning, after finding out what happened the night before, Bob regrets the mistake. But his parents insist Bob and Kay pretend to be happily married for six months before divorcing, so as not to have any bad publicity. Maybe they'll really fall in love by the end of the six months.
