It had been 39 years since John first played the role of Grandpa in the first film. In the first film, he appeared to be on the verge of death. I even questioned if he was alive because he was so skeletal looking. Grandpa didn't really have much to do in the new film. We saw him briefly during the shootout. Grandpa was shot and the bullet caused him to fall backwards.

He dropped the mallet he was holding when he fell back.

Heather, along with her friends, went into town to get supplies for Kenny's dinner. Kenny had given Heather a list of items he needed. Heather was looking at wood chips for grilling. Deputy Hartman walked by and noticed her. He told her she was looking for trouble if she chose the chips she was looking at.

He suggested one that would add the best flavor to her meat. Deputy Hartman was obviously flirting with Heather. She was not interested, but she still purchased the recommended wood. She got into the van with her friends and headed back to her newly inherited home.

Heather was burned when she was still a baby. The vigilantes had just arrived at her family's home. Heather's mom was pacing back and forth with Heather in her arms. One of the vigilantes threw a fire bomb into the Sawyers' home. This started the gun fight which left all but three of the Sawyers dead.

Heather's mom's necklace had become heated from the fire and accidentally burned Heather while her mom held her. Heather and her mom were hiding in the garage to avoid the vigilantes. One of the vigilantes found both Heather and her mom in the garage.

Heather was exploring in the bedroom of her deceased grandmother. She was looking into her wardrobe admiring her late grandmother's dresses. As she closed the door to the wardrobe, she saw the reflection of her dead grandmother. Leatherface had dug up Verna and placed her in a chair in her bedroom.

Heather screamed when she saw the dead body. She ran throughout the home screaming for her friends. She ran into the kitchen and saw Leatherface cutting the fingers of a corpse's hand. Leatherface grabbed Heather and threw her into a heavy wooden table.

Heather was knocked out when she hit her head on the table's leg.

Heather worked in the meat department of the grocery store. When we first saw Heather as an adult, she was cutting meat with an electric saw. The red light in the butcher shop blinked and Heather went to answer it. It was Nikki, who was a cashier in the store. The two talked about the guy Heather's boyfriend, Ryan, fixed Nikki up with.

Heather was destined to work in the meat industry. I found this scene to be clandestine and humorous. It just made it clear that this was her lot in life.

Answer: Kenny would make crepes as his signature move.

Nikki had told Heather during their conversation at work that she really liked Kenny. She told Heather that he made crepes for her. Heather went home later that night and told Ryan what Kenny did. Ryan told her that was Kenny's signature move. Kenny volunteered to drive the friends to Texas so Heather could sign the inheritance papers.

The group was originally headed to New Orleans for Halloween.

The group had stopped to put gas in the van. It was raining very hard. Nikki and Heather had gone into the store at the gas station. They had gotten some snacks for the road trip. Kenny was pulling off and that is when he hit Darryl with the van. Ryan opened the van door to see if Darryl was alright. Darryl got up and asked for a piece of beef jerky in lieu of suing the group. Darryl asked if he could catch a ride with them.

He gave them $60.00 to help pay his way. The van pulled off with Darryl inside it.

Answer: Gavin and Arlene

Gavin had taken Heather from her mother right before he killed her. He took Heather to Arlene, who was waiting inside his truck. The two were unable to have a baby together. They placed baby Heather inside the truck and went back to the group of other vigilantes. Gavin was one of the people responsible for the death of Heather's biological family. Heather learned she was adopted many years later. She had received a letter from her deceased grandmother. She went to her parents and questioned them about the letter. Gavin and Arlene both confirmed Heather was adopted.

In the last scene of the film, we saw Arlene and Gavin at Heather's new home. They were there to collect on Heather's inheritance. They did not know Leatherrface was the one who would answer the door.

Answer: Dan Yeager

All of these men have played the role of Leatherface in different films. Dan was chosen because of his height and frame. The director, John Luessenhop said once he saw Dan audition, that was it. Dan was the only one John could see in the role from there out. I think Dan did a closer representation to how Gunnar Hansen played Leatherface then anyone else.

It felt like a continuation of the original Leatherface rather than a replacement.

Answer: Ryan died when the van flipped over.

Heather had just rescued Nikki and Ryan from Leatherface. He was trying to get into the barn where the two were held up. Heather busted through the barn doors with the van. The three drove away in the van. Ryan tried to crash the gate at the end of the house's driveway.

The gate did not open and caused the car to stop running. Leatherface was coming down the driveway while they tried to get the car started. They managed to get outside of the gate, but Leatherface sliced their tire. The van drove off, but soon flipped over. Ryan was killed in the crash of the van.
