Mrs. Craven (who masquerades as Dr. Pinder-Schloss for most of the film) is a loan shark to whom Tully, Gomez' lawyer, is heavily indebted. Tully notices that Gordon looks exactly Fester and comes up with a plan to pass Gordon off as Gomez' brother. Fester has been missing for 25 years and Gomez has never come to terms with his disappearance because they had a huge fight shortly before Fester vanished. Tully correctly surmises that such a ruse would be easy to pull off because Gomez is so gullible.

Answer: Knock on the door

During the annual séance to contact Fester, Grandmama suddenly feels a signal indicating that the real Fester is nearby. She asks him to knock three times, which he does. Grandmama asks him to knock once more, which he also does. The family runs to the door and finds "Fester" there having just arrived with Dr. Pinder-Schloss.

Although the family and the audience is left wondering for a majority of the film if Gordon is the real Uncle Fester, this is the first indication that he is. Grandmama would not have been able to pick up his spirit if he was a fake.

Answer: In the Bermuda Triangle

Dr. Pinder-Schloss tells everyone how she was on vacation in the Bermuda Triangle and came across Fester tangled in a tuna net. Her story immediately makes Wednesday suspicious. Wednesday knows everything about the Bermuda Triangle and knows that no one ever comes out of it alive. Nonetheless, Gomez and Morticia refuse to believe otherwise.

Answer: Flora and Fauna Amor

As teens, Gomez and Fester were both attracted to their cousins, the conjoined twins Flora and Fauna Amor. It is heavily implied the twins chose Fester over Gomez initially since Fester is the older brother who would inherit most of the family fortune.

However, Gomez was able to steal Flora and Fauna away from Fester. In the present, it is also implied that Gomez still has feelings for the twins and that Morticia is jealous of them.

Answer: A finger trap

This segment of the film is actually based on an episode from the original television series. Morticia donates an old finger trap encrusted with rubies and emeralds (which Tully's wife Margaret spends much of the beginning of the film trapped in) to a charity auction. Morticia winds of up buying the finger trap for $50,000.

While the family is at the auction, Fester, Tully and Dr. Pinder-Schloss try unsuccessfully to break into the family vault to steal the money.

Answer: He does not know who Lurch is

Gomez spends most of the first half of the film absolutely convinced that Fester is genuine. He even ignores the fact that Fester does not remember the combination to the vault where the fortune is and that Fester said he slept well his first night back. Gomez mentions that Fester never slept well. However as the movie progresses, Fester's behavior concerns Gomez. Fester asks Gomez how to remove the finger trap (the same one Morticia donated to the auction). This leaves Gomez in disbelief as Fester had spent two years stuck in the finger trap and it was gift to Fester from his mother. Gomez expresses his grief and complains about all of these things while he angrily plays with his trains and declares that Fester is an imposter.

Other suspicious things Fester does include not liking Grandmama's cooking, Fester saying Gomez had his first cigar as a teenager (his first was actually when he was five) and failing to locate where the vault even is. The vault is hidden deep in the house in a location that can only be accessed by pulling one of a series of chains that are located behind the bookcase. Lurch catches Fester pulling random books off the bookcase because he does not know which one opens the bookcase door. While Gomez rants while playing with his trains, Morticia and the kids catch him falling through Pugsley's fish tank, indicating another failed attempt.

Answer: He goes to Wednesday and Pugsley's school play

Fester had been growing close to Wednesday and Puglsey and helped them rehearse a sword fight for their school play. The children are disappointed when Fester does not go to the play, opting to stay home. However, Fester has a change of heart and does indeed go to the play and even constructs fake body parts that spew blood for them use.

Fester was supposed to stay home so he and Dr. Pinder-Schloss could use the opportunity to search once again for the money. Dr. Pinder-Schloss arrives at the Addams house but finds no one there. She gets tangled in the ivy and has to be freed by Lurch. Later, she yells at Fester for this mistake and realizes he is starting to like his new family and persona and beginning to hate her.

Answer: Cousin Itt

Margaret long despised Tully for making her interact with the Addamses. He would also make her the brunt of jokes and refused to help her out of the finger trap. She was also unaware of the plot her husband was perpetrating with Dr. Pinder-Schloss. She attends Fester's party where Tully literally flings her onto Itt.

They fall in love and by the time of the film's sequel, Itt and Margaret are married and have a child named What.

Answer: Thing

During the party, Tully learns from the twins that technically the house and the money is all Fester's because he is older than Gomez. Tully devises a plan to lock the Addamses out of their home and get a restraining order to stop them from returning. He is successful in this but he and Dr. Pinder-Schloss still cannot find the money even when they have the house to themselves. Meanwhile, Fester has lost all interest in the money and misses the Addamses who are forced to live in a cheap motel.

Morticia goes to speak with Fester because she feels that Fester is not the one who kicked her family out of their home and is deeply a good person. Indeed, Fester refuses to kill Morticia at his mother's urging. Thing follows Morticia to the Addams house and witnesses everything. He goes back to the motel and informs Gomez. Gomez challenges Tully to a duel and nearly kills him but is stopped when threatened by Dr. Pinder-Schloss.

Answer: Hurricane Irene: Nightmare from Above

The Addams bookcase is filled with books that give off weather phenomenon when opened. Tully had earlier opened "The Sun Also Rises" to sunbathe and "Gone with the Wind." "Greed" is the book that needs to be pulled to open the bookcase door. After Gomez arrives to save Morticia, Fester turns on his mother and Tully and sends them flying out of the house by opening the "Hurricane Irene" book. During the hurricane, Fester is struck by lightning and regains his memory.

It turns out Gordon was the real Uncle Fester all along but he was suffering from amnesia after getting lost in the Bermuda Triangle.
