Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From what state did Clark hail?

Answer: Vermont

The running gag throughout the film is everyone's inability to retain the name of Clark's home state. Carmine says, "My nephew tells me you're from Kansas" during their initial meeting at the Old World Social Club. When Clark tells Carmine he wants "out" of his job, Carmine reminds him that he is "not a mook or a musclehead" - he is from Connecticut! During one of the last scenes, Bert Parks announces the Sabatini's along with Clark whom he proclaims is from "the great state of Montana", once again diminishing the importance of Clark's home state of Vermont.
2. While visiting the Old World Social Club Clark notices a picture hanging on the wall. The members claim it is just for "sentiment". Whose picture is it?

Answer: Benito Mussolini

The picture of Benito Mussolini is clearly visible on the wall as Clark enters the Old World Social Club. George Herbert Bush was the President of the US in 1990 when the movie was released - a logical choice. Another logical choice would be "Old Blue Eyes" in that particular setting.

In that scene, when Clark asks if the picture on the wall is Musolinni, Carmine quips, "It ain't Tony Bennett!"
3. While at the social club, Clark is interviewed by a gentleman who has an uncanny resemblance to whom?

Answer: Don Corleone

Don Corleone was also known as "Vito" Corleone ("Godfather I and II").His birth name was Antonio Andolini...a name he abandoned to sidestep the evil local warlord. John Gotti was reputed to be an authentic "Don" -- a likely choice for the quiz. Al Capone was a media "darling" despite his bloody deeds and possessor of a certain panache. Tony Soprano made this list due to his great presence as a result of the popular TV show.
4. The "Feds" from Dept. of Justice, Fish and Game Division, speculate that the Komodo dragon will be prepared in what culinary fashion?

Answer: Off the bone with a cream basil sauce

We know Hans Kurt Schlegel aka Larry London likes to fillet. The komodo dragon should go for $350,000 a plate served off the bone with a cream basil sauce -- Schlegel's trademark. The actual meal consists of Hawaiian Tiger fish mixed with smoked turkey from Virginia. The three other methods of preparing food come from watching the Food Channel to excess.
5. Following explicit directions, Clark and Steve are initially confused by the U. S. Customs agent's dual identities. By what two names is this hulking individual known?

Answer: Leo and Big Leo

Enzo the Baker is a reference to "Godfather I" - he is the unwitting person who helps Michael stave off Vito's Corleone's would-be assassins at the hospital. Jelly is Robert DeNiro's enforcer in "Analyze This"; Joey the Groin is a fictional name made up by a nervous Dr. Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal) in the same movie.

It is said that you don't walk with Jo Jo the Whale - you walk among him. This elephantine individual is a character seen in the movie "A Bronx Tale". Jimmy Whispers is part of the same gang and is so-named because of his propensity for passing on sensitive information to his boss in close proximity. "We are the same, Leo and Big Leo" says the gargantuan US Customs agent; Clark's instructions mention "Leo" and make no mention of "Big Leo". Clark's roommate, Steve Bushak, later refers to the leviathan as "Haystack Calhoun".
6. Due to the real possibility of having to flee the country, Vic obtains a fake passport for Clark changing his name to Rodolfo Lasparri. Where does this fake passport claim he is from?

Answer: Palermo, Sicily

The name Rodolfo Lasparri, interestingly, is a reference to a Marx Brother's movie entitled "A Night at The Opera". Lasparri is the character's name in this flick and he portrays a noted Italian tenor. Sorrento, incidentally, is an Italian city and a reference to a Woody Allen movie, "Broadway Danny Rose" where one of the Italian characters - a "fat, bloated, Italian has-been with a drinking problem" named Lou Cannova sings "Sorrento". Buenos Aires has traditionally been a haven for war criminals and people on the lam. FYI, the writer's mother actually hails from Bayonne, New Jersey! Go Devils!
7. One of the required texts in Clark's filmography class at NYU is written by his instructor, Arthur Fleeber. What is the name of this treatise based on the similarities between politics and gangsterism?

Answer: Guns and Provolone

"Guns and Provolone" is the name of a college text written by Professor Fleeber. He forces his students to buy it for his class. In this book, he claims there are similarities between Karl Marx's "Das Kapital", Immanuel Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason", and the Lake Tahoe scene from "Godfather II". The incorrect answers are fictional, but we had a great time inventing the titles!
8. What Queens' college does "the beautiful Tina" attend?

Answer: College of the Sacred Virgin

The Fleeber Academy does not exist in reality, but Professor Fleeber may be working on it. The Brooklyn School of Law, as you may already know, is the alma mater of Vincent LaGuardia Gambini ("My Cousin Vinny") - an accredited law school according to Vinny. St. John's University is a New York college with campuses in Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.
9. The character, Carmine Sabatini, has a nefarious underworld nickname. What is this avian nom de plume?

Answer: Jimmy the Toucan

We learn of this nickname later in the movie when Tina Sabatini interrupts Clark's film class. Upon hearing Clark has a connection with Jimmy the Toucan, Professor Fleeber vainly attempts to obtain an audience with this noted underworld figure. Clark's response is, "I'd say that's a longshot". None of the incorrect answers are references to any movies that we know of -- hope you enjoyed the whimsical bird names.
10. Having already received the "Hand of Friendship" from Carmine, Clark is the recipient of another great Italian tribute -- one not normally given to a non-Italian. What is this tribute called?

Answer: Bacio di Tutti Baci

The Malocchio, more commonly known as "The Evil Eye" is common in the Mediterannean area; it is caused by jealousy and envy. Omerta is the vow of silence practiced by La Cosa Nostra. The Corno is an amulet worn as male genital protection from the Evil Eye. Bacio di Tutti Baci (The Kiss of All Kisses) has been mentioned in a few movies with Italian themes or characters including "Godfather II". Michael Corleone delivers the Bacio di Tutti Baci to his brother, Fredo, in Havana on New Years' Eve in "Godfather II".
