Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Questions 1 through 7 are all on "The Godfather". What animals are depicted on the glass windows of Bruno Tattaglia's bar?

Answer: Fish

You can see the windows as Luca Brasi enters the last room he'll ever be in.
2. When Don Vito is buying oranges, before he gets gunned down by Sollozzo's men, there is a poster showing that a boxing match is held in the Madison Square Garden. Who is one of the fighters on that poster?

Answer: Tommy Bell

Matched up were Jake La Motta and Tommy Bell. What's interesting is that Robert De Niro, who also played Vito in "The Godfather Part II" starred in the movie "Raging Bull" and played the emotionally self-destructive, Jake La Motta!
3. What color trousers was Peter Clemenza wearing when he was showing Mike how to use the gun, in order to kill Sollozzo and McCluskey?

Answer: Purple

Just a random observation that I had made.
4. What actor was Fabrizio calling the GI's passing him in the streets of Corleone, Sicily?

Answer: Clark Gable

I have no idea why Fabrizzio did this, but you could hear him clearly say Gable's name in the middle of his Sicilian words.
5. In what tollbooth lane was Santino Corleone killed in?

Answer: Lane 2

This shot was inspired by Bonnie and Clyde's brutal murders. Director Francis Ford Coppola called the "Bonnie and Clyde" shooting simply amazing. He also thought the famous duo's death was unpredictable and well-planned. Back to "The Godfather", James Caan had about 150 blood patches under his clothes that would pop when the gunmen shot him over and over.
6. What Don of Los Angeles was supposed to look after Fredo when he went over to Las Vegas?

Answer: Francesco

Some would think that it was Moe Greene, but it was mentioned by Santino Corleone when he was at his father's bedside, about halfway through the movie.
7. What was the full name of the Don that Peter Clemenza murdered during the baptism scene?

Answer: Victor Stracci

Stracci was in an elevator when he was killed by Clemenza.
8. Questions 8 through 14 are all on "The Godfather Part II". Who was supposedly more powerful than Don Fanucci in New York as Young Vito was working at Genco's Grocery?

Answer: Maranzella

Genco said this in his father's grocery store.
9. What was Don Ciccio's first name?

Answer: Francesco

I got this from the credits of the film.
10. What ship did twelve year old Vito arrive to Ellis Island on?

Answer: Moshulu

You can see the name for just a split second.
11. According to Willie Cicci at the Senate Committee Meeting, what did the Corleone family have a lot of?

Answer: Buffers

Everyone seemed to laugh at Cicci's statement except for the Senate.
12. Name one of the two senators (BESIDES Geary!) who Michael was introduced to at the New Year's Eve party with Fredo.

Answer: Reeves

Senator Reeves was from Maryland, and Payton was from Florida. According to IMDB.com, they are listed as Senator #1 and Senator #2. I believe Senator #1 is Reeves because he speaks first, and if that's true, he's played by Phil Feldman. It says Senator #2 (or Payton, if my theory is true) is played by Roger Corman.

But the IMDB.com cast of the movie also includes a Senator Ream played by Paul B. Brown. I think at the scene where Michael is introduced to the Senators on New Year's Eve, the Senator's name was Reeves, not Ream. So IMDB might have got mixed up with that.
13. According to Fredo, who does a mean "cha cha cha"?

Answer: Fred Corngold

We didn't get to see Fred Corngold do his "cha cha cha".
14. What was Anthony's, Michael's son, middle name?

Answer: Vito

This is mentioned at Anthony's communion.
15. Questions 15 through 21 are all on "The Godfather Part III". What are the first three words spoken in the movie.

Answer: My dear children

This is said by Michael when the screen shows a picture of the World Trade Center, and letters are on the screen, saying New York City, 1979.
16. Vincent is how many years older than Mary Corleone?

Answer: Seven

Mary says she was 8 and Vincent was 15 at a wedding that they were both at once.
17. Who was the man that worked for Joey Zasa and dipped his bullets in cyanide?

Answer: Anthony Squigliaro

Vincent told this to Grace Hamilton.
18. What was the name of the company that selected Michael Corleone as Italian-American man of the year?

Answer: Meucci

Meucci invented the telephone exactly one year before Alexander Graham Bell, according to Joey Zasa.
19. What city is Michael in where an aerial attack is set in the huge glass meeting room with the Commission?

Answer: Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey. The attack killed many Don's.
20. In what city did Anthony have his opera debut in?

Answer: Palermo

This is the one where Altobello, Mary Corleone, Don Lucchesi, and Mosca are all killed at.
21. Where was Mosca, the assassin, from?

Answer: Montelepre

Don Tommasino recognizes Mosca as the assassin of Montelepre, and so Mosca shoots Tommasino with a shotgun while the Don is in his car. This is said in captions since they were speaking Sicilian to each other.
22. What was Mario Puzo's (author of "The Godfather") father's job?

Answer: Built railroad tracks

Mario, his father, and six siblings lived right by the railroad tracks in Mario's early life.
23. What other book by Mario Puzo does Michael Corleone appear in?

Answer: The Sicilian

Michael leads a man named Salvatore Giuliano to America.
24. How many Oscars were all three movies (in total) nominated for?

Answer: 28

"The Godfather" was nominated for 10, "The Godfather Part II" was nominated for 11, and "The Godfather Part III" was nominated for 7.
25. Finally, according to the Corleone timeline in "The Godfather DVD Collection", in what year did Michael die?

Answer: 1997

And so ends the life of Michael Corleone (and my quiz!).
