1. What is the name of Alejandro's older brother?

Answer: Joaqu�n

Joaqu�n is played by a Cuban named Victor Rivers. He and Antonio do look somewhat similar.

2. In the scene where they blow up the mine, when the fireballs are ripping through the picture, what animal can you hear, if you listen closely?

Answer: A puma

I had thought it sounded like an animal doing their form of yelling, and this thought was confirmed by the DVD commentary, specifically said by the director, Martin Campbell.

3. Don Diego got out of jail by bribing the guard.

Answer: False

Diego chokes the guard to death, and then retrieves the keys from him. Listen carefully, and you can hear the guard's breathing tube crack.

4. After Zorro cuts Elena's camisole off, the fact that Elena was supposed to be half-naked was a CGI (Computer Generated Image.)

Answer: False

Confirmed in a commentary by Catherine Zeta-Jones, she actually wasn't wearing anything when Antonio cut her camisole off, which they had wired with wire to make it fall. She said that she was glad that she had long hair in the movie, or else she wouldn't have done that scene.

5. Is Three-fingered Jack killed by Captain Harrison Love as Jack jumps out of the wagon?

Answer: No

Jack is shot twice in this movie whilst he flies through the air. Poor guy!

6. What is the name that the soon-to-be new Zorro gives Montero as his own at the banquet at the Hacienda?

Answer: Don Alejandro del Castillo y Garcia

The Spanish sure do have long names. At that banquet, Alejandro sure did make you think he was a Spanish nobleman.

Answer: Titanic

The man that composed the music for this movie had just come off of doing the music for "Titanic." To be exact, the music that can be heard is from when the "Titanic" is sinking, but of course, in "The Mask of Zorro" it has a Hispanic flair. You can also hear another song from "Titanic" in the scene at the mine, where Alejandro is dressed as a water bearer. For those of you that have it on DVD, go to scene 25.

8. What sound effect is played through each sword fight scene in the movie?

Answer: The feet of Spanish flamenco dancers

The music director came up with that idea, and it was approved by the director. It sort of adds a tempo to keep up with.

9. Who plays Don Rafael Montero?

Answer: Stuart Wilson

Tony Amendola plays Don Luiz, Matt Letscher is Captain Harrison Love, and Anthony Hopkins plays Don Diego de la Vega.
Another little note: Stuart Wilson also plays Robin O'Locksley on "The Princess of Thieves."

10. Don Diego dies at the end of the movie.

Answer: True

There had actually been talk of having Diego live, so that he could re-appear in a sequel, but they turned that idea down, and went with having Diego die.
