Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the tagline for the movie?

Answer: He had found love, lost it, and now had found it again.

The film centres around amnesia. A British Army officer loses his memory, meets a singer, falls in love, regains his old memories but forgets his recent life and his love. I won't tell you any more, but the end is worth waiting for.
2. What year was the film first released?

Answer: 1942

It was directed by Mervyn Leroy and starred Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson.
3. Who is the film's male star?

Answer: Ronald Coleman

Coleman was born in 1891 and was over 50 when he took this role. It did not stop him playing a convincing romantic lead. Although he was successful in silent movies it wasn't until sound came along that he really came into his own. He was nominated for Oscars in 1929, 1942 (for 'Random Harvest') and finally won in 1947 for 'Double Life'.
4. Who was the female lead?

Answer: Greer Garson

Garson was born in 1904 and her debut role was as Katherine Chipping in 'Goodbye Mr Chips'. She won a Best Actress Oscar for Mrs Miniver in 1942 and this was probably her most famous role. Apparently, she is Robert Redford's favourite actress.

Answer: John Smith

Paula takes him under her wing and always uses the name 'Smithy' as a term of endearment.

Answer: Singer

She meets Smithy after finishing a performance. She saves him from having to go back to an asylum.

Sidney Franklin was the producer, Mervyn Leroy was the director and Jonathan Benet was a character in the film.
