Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the parody of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", what race-combination was Julia told, by her father, was the only one that she was allowed marry?

Answer: Greek-Indian-Japanese Jew

Julia's parents, Frank and Linda Jones, were a combined parody of Pam's parents in "Meet the Parents" and Toula's parents in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". Even though Julia's mother was Indian and her father was a black, Greek man, they managed to get a red-haired daughter and a Japanese daughter.

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was about the Portokalos family, who were all about being Greek. When Toula fell for an American man, her father freaked out. Throughout the movie, Toula was torn between her love for Ian and her family's hatred toward him. Finally after proposing to Toula, Ian agreed to get baptized and therefore became Greek so Toula's family would accept him.
2. "Pretty Woman" was one of those movies that only had a 30 second parody. In the case of "Pretty Woman", it was showing how Grant and Andy met. When was this shown?

Answer: When Julia and Andy met for the first time

Grant was walking down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, dressed as Vivian Ward (played by Julia Roberts) from "Pretty Woman" and Andy came driving in a limo.

"Pretty Woman" was about Edward, who was a businessman. He picked up a hooker named Vivian Ward and paid her $3000 to be his date for a week. During that week, she was learning how to be 'a lady'. Toward the end, the two of them fell in love.
3. After getting electrocuted and being able to hear thoughts, from the "What Women Want" parody, which of the following people's thoughts, didn't Julia hear?

Answer: A girl, who was complaining about her shoes

Andy found Julia a huge dress, so huge in fact, that when Andy left to get more pins, Julia fell over and got her head electrocuted. She then became able to hear thoughts. This was also where she found out about Andy's plans to break up this wedding.

"What Women Want" was about a rich, self-centered man. After a lot of wine and an accident in the bathroom, he became able to hear women's thoughts. After he talked to a therapist about his new ability, he decided to take advantage of being able to give women what they wanted.
4. Which character from "Meet the Parents", besides the parents, had also been brought into the parody of "Meet the Parents"?

Answer: Mr. Jinx

Mr. Jinx was seen twice in "Date Movie". The first time, when Grant met his future parents-in-law and the second time, during dinner.

"Meet the Parents" was about Pam and Greg, a couple living in Chicago. When Pam's sister was getting married, Pam and Greg went to spend the weekend with Pam's parents. It was the first time Greg met his future in-laws. He had a plan about how to impress Pam's parents but what he didn't know, however, was that Pam's father was a retired CIA-agent.
5. Funnily enough, the character from "Napoleon Dynamite" was Napoleon Dynamite. What was written on the T-shirt that he was wearing?

Answer: Don't vote for Pedro

Napoleon Dynamite was standing at the alter in Julia's dream and waiting for his bride. However when she arrived he told her: "Hell no, I won't marry you. God. God. God. God!"

"Napoleon Dynamite" was about a guy named Napoleon Dynamite and his troubles at school, as he was one of the VERY unpopular kids.
6. During the sword fight between Andy and Julia, Julia suddenly had a quick change of clothes, so she was dressed as The Bride from "Kill Bill". Andy as well suddenly had an extra accessory, that would classify her as a character from "Kill Bill". Which character was Andy meant to be?

Answer: Elle Driver

The extra accessory was an eye-patch.

"Kill Bill" was about a pregnant bride, who was meant to be murdered at her own wedding by her own assassination squad, however the attempt only landed her in a coma for four years. When she woke up from the coma, she set out to murder the squad that had tried to kill her four years earlier.
7. The scene taken from "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" was the therapy scene. Julia said that everyone had secrets and then revealed a secret of hers. What was that secret?

Answer: She had Hepatitis C

During the therapy scene, Grant stated that he did love Julia but sometimes he just want to.... (and then he showed how he would beat Julia to death and how he would choke her.)

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith" was about a couple, each working as contract killers for two different firms (without knowing the other one also was). When the firms found out that they were married they set them up to kill each other. As soon as the firms found out they couldn't kill each other, John and Jane Smith became the targets of both firms.
8. Which of these statements wasn't true about the parody of "Meet the Fockers"?

Answer: Frank was going to bring Grant down to Chinatown

Actually, the real dialog went as followed:
Frank: "If you do anything to corrupt my daugther..."
Grant: "...You'll bring me down to Chinatown?"
Frank: "... and bust your head with a pipe."

"Meet the Fockers" was the sequel to "Meet the Parents". Pam and Greg went to Greg's childhood home so their parents could meet each other before the wedding. As well as in "Meet the Parents", Jack Byrnes, Pam's father, was very skeptical about meeting them. And as Greg's parents embarrassed him a lot, a lot of surprises were waiting for Jack and Dina Byrnes at Focker Isle.
9. The scene taken from "Sweet Home Alabama" was the proposal scene in the jewelry store. However, the difference in the scene between "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Date Movie" was that in "Date Movie", characters from another movie interrupted the scene. What movie were those characters from?

Answer: Lord of the Rings

During the proposal scene, the ring from "Lord of the Rings" was sold for $50. Those $50 were being spent on hookers and wine coolers.

"Sweet Home Alabama" was about Melanie, a successful designer, living in New York. When she got engaged to the mayor's son, Melanie returned to her home town of Pigeon Creek, Alabama. It turned out that back in Alabama, she had a husband whom she left seven years earlier, from whom she now tried to get a divorce. As she went among her family and old friends in Alabama, old feelings started to blossom and she had to choose between her old husband and her new husband.
10. Which scene from "Legally Blond" was brought into "Date Movie"?

Answer: A part of Elle's admission video

Julia worked at her family's restaurant (as part of the parody of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"), but dreamed about becoming a pastry chef. When she had applied for pastry school, we were told she had to make an admission video. As it was taken almost directly from "Legally Blond", Julia was sitting in a jacuzzi with a pink bikini on, then she jumped up, took off her bikini top and danced topless.

"Legally Blond" was about Elle, a rich, blond girl from Los Angeles. When her boyfriend dumped her for not being serious enough for his future, she decided to apply for Harvard Law School in hopes of winning him back. When she got in and school started, her boyfriend, however, was engaged to Vivian. Everyone believed Elle would fail Harvard Law School, but in her first year, she actually won a murder trial.
