David opened the door, and he found that the father (the one who answered the door) of the household was murdered, the children were tied up in a closet, and the wife was tied up in the bedroom. Eventually, there was a struggle between David and the intruder, and David killed him. Thanks to David, the kids were rescued. We knew that the father was dead, and the last time we see the mother, she falls over, as she is still tied up.
