Carrey, born on January 17th, 1962 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, was cast as Lloyd Christmas. Lloyd drove a limousine and he drove Mary Swanson to the airport. When Lloyd did this, he immediately fell in love with her. Right as Lloyd was about to drive away from the airport, he saw that she had left her briefcase behind. Lloyd got out of his limousine, grabbed the briefcase, and demanded they hold the plane so he could give it back to Mary.

When the attendant told Lloyd the plane had already left, Lloyd told him he was a limo driver and eventually found himself on the runway. Lloyd told his good friend, Harry, that he wanted to go to Aspen, Colorado (where Mary flew off) to give her back the briefcase.

As they drove, along the way, they stopped at a diner and met a guy named Sea Bass, rented a hotel room that had a bathtub in the shape of a heart, and more.

In Aspen, Lloyd saw Mary and gave her the briefcase back and she was shocked he drove all the way from Rhode Island to deliver it to her.

The man who orchestrated the kidnapping of Mary's husband, Bobby, took Lloyd and Mary hostage. However, he was caught and Lloyd and Mary were freed. Lloyd eventually accepted that Mary was married and would stay with her husband. Carrey had roles in the films "Peggy Sue Got Married", "Bruce Almighty", and "The Truman Show."

Holly, a native of Bristol, Pennsylvania, landed the role of Mary Swanson. Mary asked for a limousine to drive her to the airport so she could fly off to Aspen, Colorado. Mary planned to leave a briefcase full of ransom money (her husband was kidnapped) at the airport so her husband would be freed, but she found out the kidnappers did not get the money. Mary attended a benefit for snow owls in Aspen, and that was where she met Harry. Harry told Mary his friend would like to meet her and that was when Mary's mother came along and told Harry that Mary needed to get out and have fun. Harry told Lloyd he got him a date, with Mary, but Lloyd encouraged Harry to go out with her first and then he would. On their date, Harry and Mary had a snowball fight and Mary told Harry that a fun day was what she needed.

At the end of the movie, Mary was thrilled when her husband, Bobby, showed up alive. Holly starred in the movies "Any Given Sunday" and "What Women Want." From 1986 to 1989, she portrayed Julie Rand Chandler on the ABC soap opera, "All My Children."

Daniels, born in 1955 in Athens, Georgia, got the part of Harry Dunne in "Dumb and Dumber." Harry was Lloyd's sidekick and he was distressed when his pet parakeet, Petey, died when his head fell off. Harry agreed to go with Lloyd to Aspen to meet up with Mary and both Harry and Lloyd had an adventurous road trip that involved a burned foot, going in the wrong direction, and much more.

In Aspen, Harry went out with Mary and took a ski lift, and it was on the lift that Harry licked frost on a pole, and his tongue was stuck. Mary pulled his head back and got his tongue off the pole. Near the end of the movie, Harry was shot and thought to be dead but he came back up and shot at the man who held Lloyd and Mary hostage (he missed with each shot). Harry revealed that he met with the FBI downstairs, and they gave him a bulletproof vest and a gun. Daniels was in the films "Arachnophobia", "RV", and "Gettysburg."

Garr had the small role of Helen Swanson. Helen was first seen midway through the film, when she consoled Mary on her problems with her husband being kidnapped. At the benefit for the snow owls, Mary introduced Helen to Harry Dunne and Helen commented that Harry's tuxedo was fabulous.

This was where Helen told Harry that Mary needed to get out on the slopes and have fun, and she persuaded them both to go on a date. Garr guest starred on the TV shows "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "Felicity", and "Life with Bonnie."

Neely, born on June 6th, 1965 in Comox, British Columbia, Canada, won the role of Sea Bass. Sea Bass was first seen when Harry and Lloyd stop at a diner to have something to eat. Harry spilled salt and Lloyd told him it was bad luck, unless he took some salt and tossed it over his shoulder. Harry took the salt shaker and tossed it behind his shoulder and it hit Sea Bass. Harry apologized to Sea Bass but Sea Bass decided to spit in his burger. To make it up to him, Lloyd bought Sea Bass and his friends some beers.

Then, Harry went to a waitress and told them that Sea Bass offered to pick up their check so she agreed to have Sea Bass pay for it. When Sea Bass found out about this, he ran out of the restaurant to find Harry and Lloyd but they were long gone.

At a gas station, Sea Bass ran into Lloyd in the bathroom, but Harry managed to knock him out before Sea Bass could beat up Lloyd. Neely was in the movies "Me, Myself, and Irene", "What's the Worst That Could Happen?", and "Stuck on You."

Duffy, a native of New York City, portrayed Shay. Shay was first seen at the airport with Mr. Mentoliano, and both were prepared to get the briefcase that Mary would leave with the ransom money for her husband's kidnapping. Shay and Mentoliano found out where Lloyd lived (Lloyd got the briefcase) and tried to get it from him but they left a note about how they drove off to Aspen. On their way to Aspen, Shay and Mentoliano pretended that their car had broken down but this was a plan to get Lloyd and Harry to pick Mentoliano up as he hitchhiked.

At the benefit for the snow owls, Shay was seen with Nicholas Andre, and she spit out her alcoholic drink when a snow owl fell to its death, courtesy of a cork. At the end of the movie, Shay was seen in handcuffs and carried off in a police car. Duffy guest starred on the TV series "Pepper Ann," and she was also in the movies "Reality Bites" and "Malcolm X."

Starr, born in 1950 in Queens, New York, was cast as Joe Mentalino. Joe was involved in the kidnapping of Mary's husband and pursued Harry and Lloyd when he found out they had the briefcase that contained the ransom money for him. Near the middle of the movie, Joe hitchhiked and got Harry and Lloyd to drive him to Davenport, Iowa. On the way there, Harry and Lloyd annoyed Mr. Mentalino with their singing and playing silly games.

They stopped at a diner, and this was where Harry and Lloyd made a mess with ketchup and mustard. Mr. Mentalino went outside and made a call to Nicholas Andre and he promised Nicholas that he would poison them with rat poison.

When Mr. Mentalino came back inside, he took a bite out of his burger but he started to choke when he realized both Harry and Lloyd laced it with an atomic red pepper. Mr. Mentalino told them to get his pills and they got his pills and gave it to him.

However, Mr. Mentalino realized they actually gave him the rat poison instead of his medication and he died. Starr had guest starring stints on the TV shows "NewsRadio", "Frasier", and "3rd Rock from the Sun."

Rowell had the role of FBI Agent Beth Jordan. We first saw Beth when Harry and Lloyd were at a gas station. Harry commented that he liked her skis and he asked her if they both were hers and she said yes. She told Harry, right before she left, that she was running from her boyfriend and was going to Aspen. Harry told her he and Lloyd were also going to Aspen and perhaps they could meet up for some hot chocolate. Beth leaned over to get a pen and paper to give Harry her phone number and Harry realized his leg was on fire so he told her to just give it to him since he had a great memory. Later on, Beth met Lloyd at a bar in Aspen, and annoyed him with stories about her boyfriend. Right as Harry was about to got back to his hotel room, Beth called out for him and told him he forgot to call and he wondered why she was there. Beth then revealed she was an FBI Agent and that she had been following Lloyd and Harry since Providence. Rowell starred in the movies "A Perfect Fit", "Home of the Brave", and "Eve's Bayou." Rowell is best known for her portrayal of Drucilla "Dru" Winters on the CBS soap opera, "The Young and the Restless." In 1998, Rowell was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role of Dru on "The Young and the Restless" but she lost to Julia Barr for "All My Children." Other Daytime Emmy nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress that year were Amy Carlson of "Another World", Vanessa Marcil of "General Hospital", and Amy Ecklund of "Guiding Light." Prior to this, Rowell received Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1996 and 1997 for her role of Dru Winters but she lost to Anna Kathyrn Holbrook for "Another World" in 1996 and Michelle Stafford for "The Young and the Restless" in 1997.

Lockerman, born on March 9th, 1955 in Milford, Connecticut, was cast in the small role of Bobby Swanson. Bobby was Mary's husband but he was kidnapped by Nicholas Andre and held for ransom. At the end of the movie, Bobby came out of a police car and reunited with wife Mary. Before Mary introduced Bobby to Lloyd, Lloyd had a vision of shooting Bobby dead but he snapped out of it when he heard Mary's voice. Mary told Lloyd she wanted him to meet Bobby and Bobby and Lloyd shook hands. Lockerman guest starred on the TV series "Chicago Hope", "Baywatch", and "Hard Time on Planet Earth." In 1990, Lockerman originated the role of Casey the alien on the ABC soap opera, "General Hospital", but left that same year due to fan disapproval of the character and his storyline.

Shaye, a native of Detroit, Michigan, had the very small role of Mrs. Neugeboren. Mrs. Neugeboren asked Harry to deliver some dogs for her, and he was late. When Harry got there, she told him her dogs should have been delivered to her over an hour ago but Harry assured her he was late since he took extra time to groom them well. Harry flipped open the back door of his van and Mrs. Neugeboren was horrified to see the dogs had a lot of mustard and ketchup on their fur. Harry told her she could just run a comb through them and they would be fine, but she was still displeased with what he did. Shaye starred in the movies "Hood of Horror", "Cellular", and "Kingpin."
