Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I realized in the film's final scene that I was a ghost. Who played me?

Answer: Bruce Willis

Willis, born on March 19th, 1955 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, was cast as Dr. Malcolm Crowe. Dr. Crowe was a child psychologist who befriended a troubled young boy named Cole Sear. He first observed marks on Cole's arms on their first visit while talking in a church but he did not believe his mother abused him.

In one scene, Dr. Crowe played a mind reading game with Cole which involved Cole taking one step towards a chair if what he said was true. If Dr. Crowe said something not true about Cole, Cole would take one step back. If Cole reached the chair, he would talk to him. If Cole reached the door, he could leave. Cole agreed to play and it became evident midway through the game that Dr. Crowe was unable to read Cole's mind, as he continuously got closer to the door. Cole had a medical issue and was taken to the hospital and it was there that he told Dr. Crowe that his secret was he could see dead people. Malcolm asked him how often he saw them so Cole said he noticed dead people all the time who did not know they were dead.

In the final scene of the movie, Dr. Crowe spoke to his wife, Anna, and was shocked when she dropped his wedding band on the floor. He looked at his hand and noticed he did not have his wedding band on and that he had been one of the dead people Cole said he saw. Willis starred in the movies "The Fifth Element", "Die Hard" and "Armageddon".
2. I asked Cole in one scene if he took my bumblebee pendant. Who played me?

Answer: Toni Collette

Collette, a native of Sydney, Australia, played Lynn Sear, Cole's mom. Lynn loved her son dearly and worked two jobs since she was a single mother. In her first scene, she was doing her laundry and gave Cole some Pop Tarts to take to school. Cole was later invited to someone's birthday party and Lynn attended it but was distraught when Cole had a panic attack as a result of being locked in a scary room.

The doctor she spoke with at the hospital stated he did not have a seizure but he was concerned since he saw bruises on Cole. Lynn told the doctor she did not abuse her son but he insisted she speak with a social worker. During a dinner scene, Lynn asked Cole if she took her bumblebee pendant but Cole said he did not.

In Lynn's final scene, she and Cole were in her car during a traffic jam and Cole informed her that he could see dead people.

He said one of them who spoke to him at times was his grandma, Lynn's mother. Cole told her that grandma said she was sorry for hiding her bumblebee pendant and that grandma was also proud of her. Collette starred in the films "The Hours", "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Dead Girl".

In 2000, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for "The Sixth Sense" but lost to Angelina Jolie for "Girl, Interrupted".
