Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "You're a really good teacher Harry. I've never been able to stun anything before." Which love interest flirts while making this remark?

Answer: Cho Chang

After a particularly good session with Dumbledore's Army, Cho says this to Harry, while lingering behind the rest of the departing students. She is referring to the stunning spells that they have been practising, but the double entendre is obvious in the way her beauty has stunned Harry. It is shortly after this that they exchange their first kiss, bodies held apart from each other and only connecting at their lips.
Cho Chang is played by Katie Leung.
2. Who makes this biting remark in response to an insensitive comment from Ron? "Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon!"?

Answer: Hermione Granger

Harry has just shared the experience of his first kiss with Cho, along with the news that she was crying. Ron teases Harry that his kissing must have been bad and Hermione tries to explain all the conflicting emotions that Cho has been feeling that year. Ron flippantly remarks that "One person couldn't feel all that...they'd explode." Hermione delivers this amazing zinger and the three friends dissolve into laughter.
Hermione is played by Emma Watson.
3. Who nastily mutters "Harry Potter, the boy who stopped the Dark Lord...friend of Mudbloods and traitors alike."?

Answer: Kreacher

Harry is at the Headquarters of the Order (Sirius' house) for Christmas when he encounters the house elf, Kreacher, who is always skulking around, muttering about people as if they can't hear him. Having served the Black family all of his life, Kreacher's loyalties lie with those of his dead mistress. He is constantly calling Hermione a Mudblood and calling Sirius (the only member of his family who did not get sorted into Slytherin) a blood traitor. When he passes Harry he mutters this at him and then gets yelled at by Sirius.
Kreacher is voice by Timothy Bateson.
4. "There is a storm comin' Harry. We'd all best be ready when she does." What well-meaning and fiercely loyal friend mutters this prophetic line?

Answer: Hagrid

Harry is in Hagrid's hut just after Umbridge leaves, after unsuccessfully trying to get information about why Hagrid had been absent for a few months. Hagrid keeps insisting that he was away for his health and was just getting some fresh air, an excuse that Umbridge does not accept.
Hagrid's remark is prompted by the unnatural-looking storm that seems to be rumbling in the distance, but he is also speaking metaphorically about the approaching confrontation with Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
Hagrid is played by Robbie Coltrane.
5. "You may not like him Minister, but you can't deny Dumbledore's got style." Which velvety-voiced Ministry official (and secret member of the Order of the Phoenix) delivers this funny line?

Answer: Kingsley Shacklebolt

With the discovery of the piece of paper that lists the members of Dumbledore's Army, Fudge has arrived at Hogwarts, with some of his staff, for the purpose of sending Dumbledore to Azkaban to await trial for sedition (among other things).
While happy to take the blame for the formation of the Army (thus minimizing Harry's punishment), Dumbledore is not willing to go to Azkaban and disappears in a flash of Phoenix fire.
Shacklebolt (who Fudge does not realize is a member of the Order of the Phoenix) makes this amusing comment to Fudge, after Dumbledore gets away.
Shacklebolt is played by George Harris.
6. "Every memory he has access to is a weapon he can use against you." Who sneers these words to Harry?

Answer: Severus Snape

When Harry manages to see Nagini attack Arthur Weasley (thereby saving his life) Dumbledore becomes aware that the connection between Harry and Voldemort is stronger than he feared. He instructs Snape to give Harry lessons in Occlumency, so that he can prevent Voldemort from reading his mind. Because of the animosity between Snape and Harry, the lessons are not pleasant and Snape mocks him for some of the memories that he is able to read from Harry's mind.
Snape gives this good advice to Harry, but in a very unpleasant manner.
Snape is played by Alan Rickman.
7. Who coldly delivers this unpleasant line, "As I told you once before Mr. Potter, naughty children deserve to be punished."?

Answer: Dolores Umbridge

Harry is walking through the halls when he happens across a younger student who has just had a detention with Umbridge, being comforted by the Weasley twins. The boy is crying and has obviously just been using one of her special quills, as the back of his hand is bleeding. While he is watching this, Umbridge steps out of her office, sees Harry standing there and delivers this nasty line.
It is at this point that the twins decide that they really don't need any more education.
Umbridge is played by Imelda Staunton.
8. "You were trying to trick me. You know, I really hate children." What tyrant uttered this ironic line?

Answer: Dolores Umbridge

Already disheveled from chasing Fred and George's firework, Umbridge catches Harry, Ron and Hermione in her office. Members of the Inquisitional Squad also bring in Neville, Ginny and Luna.
Convinced that they were trying to join Dumbledore, Umbridge is willing to even use an unforgivable curse to learn his whereabouts. Hermione forestalls this by talking about Dumbledore's secret weapon, and Umbridge follows Hermione and Harry into the Forbidden Forest to find it.
When they reach the point where Hagrid's giant brother should have been tethered to a tree, Umbridge figures out that she has been fooled, and delivers this line. Shortly thereafter she is picked up by Grawp.
9. Who deadpans, "I'm sorry professor, I must not tell lies."?

Answer: Harry Potter

After realizing that Hermione and Harry have tricked her, Umbridge is picked up and dropped by Grawp. She makes some pretty offensive remarks to the centaurs, who are already incensed by both the Ministry and by Grawp. When the centaurs grab her and start to carry her away, she realizes that she has gone too far and tries to retract her earlier comments.

When this doesn't work she screams to Harry to tell them that she means no harm, and Harry replies with this ironic comment. The line is perfect because "I must not tell lies." is what she made him carve into the back of his hand during detention, for insisting that Voldemort was back.
10. When Harry asks how they are going to get to London to rescue Sirius, who blithely suggests, "We fly of course."?

Answer: Luna Lovegood

With the centaurs taking care of Umbridge, Harry and Hermione reunite with Ron, Neville, Ginny and Luna, who have managed to escape from the Inquisitorial Squad. Harry tries once again to talk the others into staying behind, but is reminded that Dumbledore's Army is all about making a difference. Harry accepts that they are right, and asks how they are going to get to London.

In suggesting that they fly, Luna means that they ride Thestrals in. Since (in the movie) Luna and Harry are the only group members who can see the Thestrals, the suggestion could not have come from anyone else among the answer choices. Luna is played by Evanna Lynch.
11. While in the Department of Mysteries, who hisses in surprise, "You dare speak his name? You filthy half-blood."

Answer: Bellatrix Lestrange

The members of Dumbledore's Army have given the Death Eaters a run for their money but they are running out of tricks. Lucius is trying to calm everyone down because he is still concerned about getting his hands on the prophecy which Harry holds. Harry makes a comment about Voldemort and Bellatrix is shocked to hear that he has the nerve to use Voldemort's name.
Bellatrix is played by Helena Bonham Carter.
12. Who challenges Harry with, "She killed him. She deserves it. You know the spell Harry. Do it!"?

Answer: Voldemort

Bellatrix has just killed Sirius and dances out of the room bragging about it. Incensed Harry follows her and tries to use the Cruciatus curse on her but its effects are weak. Voldemort appears and tells Harry that the spell doesn't work unless you mean it. Then he encourages Harry with the above quote, but whether he's telling Harry to torture or actually kill her is unclear. Whichever the case, Harry refuses to do it and lowers his wand.
Voldemort is played by Ralph Fiennes.
13. While Harry lies struggling with Voldemort's possession, who encourages him with these words, "Harry it isn't how you are alike...it's how you are not."?

Answer: Dumbledore

During the duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore, Voldemort changes into sand and invades Harry's body. You can see through Harry's eyes that Voldemort is beginning to possess him. Dumbledore bends over Harry and encourages him to fight the possession with these words. His choice of words is important, because it shows that he realises that Harry has been worried that he and Tom Riddle have a lot of similarities, and is worried that he will become like Voldemort.
Dumbledore is played by Michael Gambon.
14. "You're the weak one and you'll never know love or friendship, and I feel sorry for you."? Who utters this stirring line, showing that he has indeed won?

Answer: Harry Potter

Dumbledore's encouragement helps Harry throw off the possession by Voldemort. In saying this, Harry acknowledges the differences between Voldemort and himself and attains the strength to expel Voldemort from his body. Voldemort responds by calling him a fool and telling him that he will lose everything, but the arrival of the Ministry Aurors forces him to leave.
15. While looking for her lost possessions, who philosophically declares that, "Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in time...if not in the way we expect."?

Answer: Luna Lovegood

On the last night of the school year, Harry finds Luna putting up notices around the school, looking for her lost possessions that people have been hiding from her. Harry offers to help her look but she declines his offer with this explanation. Her remark can be interpreted very concretely, in regards to her possessions (as a pair of her shoes appear hanging in the hallway), or it can be looked at more metaphorically, in regards to the people whom Harry has lost.
