Question 1 of 10
1. (1933 or 2005) Nobody has ever thought about the economic ramifications of all the damage done in this movie. It's not bad enough that a big simian causes thousands of dollars worth of property damage in Manhattan, but then he climbs a world-famous landmark and wrecks part of that. Then, the military has to send planes, during which the landmark suffers even more damage! Somebody had to pay for that! What movie shows us these costly shenanigans? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. (1992) Powerhouse actors Jack Lemmon, Al Pacino, Ed Harris and Alan Arkin try to sell people essentially worthless property in Florida. While insulting management freak Alec Baldwin goads them, brown-nose "company man" Kevin Spacey gives them useless leads, driving one of them to a bungled burglary. Name this movie. Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. (2008) A monster manages to destroy most of Manhattan Island. Upon closer inspection, he seems to be only about 25 feet tall! All of the action is captured by one guy's hand-held video camera. What is the name of this movie? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. (1959) In a world ravaged by nuclear war, the land down under becomes the last place in the world with human survivors, but only for a short time. What is the title of this movie? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. (1967) A rebellious non-conformist is arrested for cutting the heads off parking meters and is sent to a prison work camp, where he manages to eat 50 eggs in one hour and to escape three times before a guard finally guns him down. What is this flick called? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. (1969) This violent Sam Peckinpah film centers on William Holden leading his aging gang of outlaws into Mexico, where the movie ends in (what else?) a final bloodbath. What is the name of this violent film? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: King Kong

It's a good thing this didn't happen in 2008. The owners of the Empire State would have demanded a bailout. The military-industrial complex, however, would have been salivating about financing another expedition to Skull Island!

Answer: Glengarry Glen Ross

Written by David Mamet, this flick is a must see for anyone who has ever hated his/her bosses on a visceral level. Al Pacino's cockiness is matched by Ed Harris's egotism, while Jack Lemmon's professional sleaziness makes one's skin crawl. But don't watch it with the kiddies. Its plethora of profanity is truly amazing! (Submitted by snediger)
3. (2008) A monster manages to destroy most of Manhattan Island. Upon closer inspection, he seems to be only about 25 feet tall! All of the action is captured by one guy's hand-held video camera. What is the name of this movie?

Answer: Cloverfield

"Cloverfield" was a 2008 monster movie directed by Matt Reeves. It is a unique movie in the respect that it is filmed in the first person, using a hand held video camera, and captures the destructive power of the creature, later nicknamed Clover. (Submitted by skyrunner84)
4. (1959) In a world ravaged by nuclear war, the land down under becomes the last place in the world with human survivors, but only for a short time. What is the title of this movie?

Answer: On The Beach

Originally a 1957 novel written by Nevil Shute, this post-apocalyptic movie was set in 1963, after the fallout of World War III. It centers on the last few survivors in Melbourne, Australia, and their struggle to live out their last days, as the radiation/fallout moves closer to covering the entire globe.

8. (2009) Big blue humanoids inhabit a dangerous planet, protecting it from unobtainium-seeking humans. Which film is this?

Answer: Avatar

Written and directed by James Cameron, this movie starred Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Joel David Moore. In it, a paraplegic marine (Worthington) assigned to the moon Pandora becomes torn between following his orders and doing what he feels is right. Even if you don't find the story thrilling, it's worth seeing just for the special effects. (Submitted by GuruofTrivia)
9. (1997) The Supreme Being gives us the Ultimate Weapon to defeat Evil and we drive it around in a taxi and then take it to a Space-Opera/western-shootout. What is the title of this movie?

Answer: The Fifth Element

Starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Ian Holm, Chris Tucker and Gary Oldman and with an opening cameo from Luke Perry, this hybrid genre hit on all cylinders. Mostly a SciFi film because of setting, there is ample action, comedy, drama, suspense and romance for everyone's tastes. The Take-In flying Chinese Eatery is extremely humorous, as are the wall unit shower/refrigerator/bed.
