Answer: Bill Justis

Bill Justis had a number two hit on the US pop chart in 1957 with "Raunchy". It reached number eleven on the UK chart.

Ernie Freeman also had a hit with "Raunchy" on the US pop chart in 1957. It charted on the same day as the version by Bill Justis but only reached number four on the US pop chart. It did not chart in The UK. Dave "Baby" Cortez had a number one hit on the US pop chart in 1959 with "The Happy Organ". It never charted in the UK. Santo and Johnny had a number one on the US pop chart in 1959 with "Sleep Walk". It reached number 22 on the UK chart.
2. Was British pianist Russ Conway riding a " _____ Saddle" up the UK chart in the 1950s?

Answer: Side

"Side Saddle" was a number one hit on the UK chart in 1959 for Russ Conway. It did not chart in the US. Dispite the Rock'n'Roll trend at the time he was the UK's top-selling artist in 1959, with two number one hits and three other top ten hits.

The distance was "Forty Miles Of Bad Road" and it reached number nine on the US pop chart in 1959. It reached number eleven on the UK chart. Duane Eddy was the most successful solo instrumentalist of the Rock'n'Roll era, with six US top 20 hits and 17 UK top 20 hits between 1958 and 1986. He was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

"Reveille Rock" was the tune and Johnny and The Hurricanes had a number 25 hit on the US pop chart with it in 1959. It reached number 14 on the UK chart. Johnny "Paris" Pocisk was founder, leader and saxophone player of the group,he died in 2006.

"Walk-Don't Run" was a number two hit on the US pop chart in 1960 for The Ventures". It reached number eight on the UK chart. The Ventures are very popular in Japan and in 1971 were the first non-Japanese artists to be elected to the Japanese Conservatory of Music. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 and not before time in my opinion.

Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen had a number two hit on the UK chart in 1961 with "Midnight In Moscow". It also reached number two on the US pop chart. Kenny and his band were at the forefront of the jazz revival on the British charts in the late '50s and early '60s.

Answer: Acker

Bernard Stanley Bilk, otherwise known as Mr.Acker Bilk had a number two hit on the UK chart (on the chart for more than a year) in 1961. It reached number one on the US pop chart. It was voted the number one instrumental of 1962 in the US. The name Acker is from the Somerset term for friend or mate and Mr. Bernard Bilk was awarded the MBE in 2001.

"Wonderful Land" gave The Shadows their third UK number one hit of the '60s in 1962. They never had any hits on the US pop chart. They had five UK number one hits altogether and are by far the most charted instrumental group on the UK chart. They also backed Cliff Richard on most of his hits in the '50s and '60s.
10. Which "Gone With The Wind" character was the instrumental by Jet Harris and Tony Meehan named after?

Answer: Scarlett O'Hara

"Scarlett O'Hara" was a number two hit on the UK chart in 1963. It never charted in the US. Ex-Shadows Jet Harris (Bass) and Tony Meehan (Drums) had three UK chart hits at one, two and four, they all stayed on the chart for 13 weeks each in 1963 and that was it from them.
