Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bill Ward, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler. What band were they all in?

Answer: Black Sabbath

With Ozzy Osbourne rounding out the band, they were one of the forefathers of Heavy Metal, a fact that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has yet to recognize! Quite a contrast to the hippie music coming out when they debuted in the late 60s!
2. Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio--What band were they in?

Answer: Rainbow

Ritchie formed this band after he left Deep Purple (too many egos were competing with his). They had several great tunes, including 'Man on the Silver Mountain'. Rainbow went through two other lead singers after Dio left.
3. Brad Delp, Tom Scholtz. What band were they in?

Answer: Boston

Lead vocals, lead guitar/keyboards/producer. 'More Than a Feeling' and many other great tunes. The production of their "Debut" album was incredible. Tom's unique guitar sound spurred a wave of electrical gadgets to try to duplicate it.
4. Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Brad Whitford. What band were they all in?

Answer: Aerosmith

Bass, drums, guitar. No doubt about their effect on rock-n-roll. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, introduced by huge fan Kid Rock. Of course, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry perform lead vocals and lead guitar, respectively.
5. Keith Moon, John Entwistle. What band were they in?

Answer: The Who

Drums, Bass. Along with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, probably one of the biggest British bands of all time. Great songwriting by Pete Townsend, great singing by Roger Daltry. Kenny Jones replaced Moon, who died in 1978.
6. K.K. Downing, Glen Tipton, Ian Hill. What band were they all in?

Answer: Judas Priest

Lead guitar, lead guitar, drums. The epitome of Classic Heavy Metal! Lead vocalist Rob Halford can outscream the best of them. Awesome live shows.
7. Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor. What band were they all in?

Answer: Queen

Guitars, bass, drums. One of the more creative rock groups of the 70s. Many of their tunes sound like no others ever recorded. Freddie Mercury- what a showman!
8. Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell. What band were they in?

Answer: Jimi Hendrix Experience

Bass guitar, drums. They laid down a nice canvas for Jimi to do his artwork. Can you imagine being onstage playing alongside Jimi Hendrix?!
9. Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke, Paul Rodgers. What band were they in?

Answer: Bad Company

Guitars, drums, Paul Rodgers - lead vocals. Bet there are at least 6-8 of their tunes that you recognize as soon as they come on the radio...
10. J.Y.Young, Chuck Panozzo, John Panozzo. What band were they in?

Answer: Styx

Guitars, drums, bass. Along with Tommy Shaw on guitars and vocals, they had many cool tunes. Too bad Dennis DeYoung (keys) force fed them the 'Kilroy' album to drive the band apart.
