Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Avenged Sevenfold's second album?

Answer: Waking the Fallen

This was the last album in which M. Shadows screamed, because he needed lung surgery. "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" was mostly screaming, "Waking the Fallen" was half-singing and half-screaming, and their last two were all singing. M. Shadows claims that he can scream better than ever before, but he still doesn't.
2. What was the famous poem by Edgar Allen Poe that A7X based their song "A Little Piece of Heaven" off of?

Answer: Annabel Lee

This was Poe's last poem, and it was about a beautiful woman who falls in love with a man. She dies, like in many other of his poems. The song follows the main plot of "Annabel Lee". This song was without a doubt the weirdest and most experimental song that they've made, and many A7X fans seem to like it.
3. Although most of Avenged Sevenfold's first album is screaming, there were two very soft spoken songs. Which of these was one of the songs?

Answer: Warmness on the Soul

"Warmness on the Soul" and "Streets" were the two songs on their first album without screaming. "Streets" was still a hard rock song, though. Even more songs without screaming followed in the future.
4. What was the stage name of Avenged Sevenfold's first bassist?

Answer: Matt Wendt

Wendt left the bans in 2000 before their first album was released. he was replaced bt Justin Sane who left the band shortly after "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" was released. They hired a new bassist named Dameon Ash, but he only lasted a year. Their third bassist was Johnny Christ.
5. Avenged Sevenfold's name is based off of a biblical reference about a man named...

Answer: Cain

The passage is in the book of Genesis, but it wasn't about him. Cain was to be exiled for killing his brother, but he couldn't be killed, because that's what God demanded. One man who threatened to kill him said that he would have "VENGEANCE taken upon him SEVENFOLD".

Their song "Chapter Four" is about this passage, and this passage can be found in the book of Genesis 4:15. The brother's name was Abel.
6. Avenged Sevenfold's drummer until 2009 was nicknamed "The Rev(erend) Tholomew Plague".

Answer: True

Many people only knew him as "The Rev", but there's a little more to it. I was surprised myself when I found found out his whole name. He became more than just a drummer in their self-titled album. Mike Portnoy replaced him in for the "Nightmare" album (2010)
7. Avenged Sevenfold's song "Bat Country" was on the Us Hot 100. What number did it reach?

Answer: 60

"Bat Country" was their most successful and all-time most popular song.
8. What was the name of the documentary/Behind-the-Scenes DVD that Avenged Sevenfold released in 2007?

Answer: All Excess

This DVD was a behind the scenes documentary about Avenged Sevenfold. It included the musicians' musical history, as well as some other cool features, like making-the-video, and it also included a few live performances.
9. The song "Almost Easy" was number 1 on the UK Rock Chart at one point.

Answer: True

I know that Avenged Sevenfold isn't very popular on the radio or anything like that, so I thought that it was pretty cool that they had a number 1 hit, which I believe they deserve. "Almost Easy" could be their most successful song, eventually.
10. Avenged Sevenfold originated in California, and two of the band members went to school with each other, until one was expelled. Who was expelled?

Answer: The Rev

M. Shadows and The Rev went to the same Catholic school, but The Rev was expelled in the third grade. He did some songing in the band's new CD, "Avenged Sevenfold". He wrote the songs "A Little Piece of Heaven", "Brompton Cocktail", "Afterlife", and "Almost Easy".
